The whole team looks low energy, how is that possible with a 10 day turnaround?!
Got me thinking.
When did they fly over?
Titans flew over Monday for a Thursday game.
And won.
We prob flew over Friday pm and bus to New and were dog tired.

Theres gotta be an investigation!!!

Our inability to dominate is causing the domino effect everywhere. Its whats driving the penalty counts, its whats driving the problems on defence. Its whats stagnating the attack.

Our backs physically dominate their opposition, thats why we get that 1,2,3 quick roll on. But as we hit the guys with double digits on their backs, we lack any punch. Slow PTBs, crabbing sideways, pushed into touch. The rot has crept down the the numbers too.
When we had Metcalf the ranking were like
6 - B
7 - A
8 - A
9 - A

Now its
6 - D
7 - C
8 - A
9 - C

to add to
11 - D
12 - D
13 - D
I know AFB makes big yards but I think JFH in his place will help. AFB makes slow post contact yards so the rest of the defence sets, JFH hits the line hard and fast didn't make as many meters but the next guy doesn't have the defence in his face because the got time to set and wait.
I think that will help the next runners.
And then we just need one strong fast young 2nd rower and the whole thing changes.

Meh maybe. AFB is punching out 200m+ a game. Hes the only player Id keep up front...

AFB is an exceptional player, but if our forward pack were performing at even 80% of AFB - we'd be running over the top of most other teams. I'm hoping that that's what JFH brings.

Edit: For context, I'm referring to JFH's renowned work ethic and ability to elevate those around him,

Agreed, I don’t understand this whole last minute travel thing as it would definitely make a difference with how frequent we travel across the ditch. Every Aussie team who plays in NZ will arrive here early in the week to acclimatise.

I found it amateur like that we arrived in Sydney the day before the Bunnies game. The same day that closed Sydney airport for half the day due to record rainfall. The club would have breathed a sigh of relief knowing that they just got in before it closed.

The club has been around long enough to know when and when not to travel.

I’m not sure people realise how bad recovery gets when you get old. 10km pack marches were easy in my early thirties. Late 30s I couldn’t walk properly for 2 days.
It’s crazy how steep the curve is, not just recovery but also how quickly you are able to regain fitness and how quickly it leaves you.
I’m still playing footy socially at 40 and it takes me a couple of days to feel normal after a game and I’m always nursing some kind of niggle. In my teens I could pretty much play the next day and rarely got injured

I'm freaking sorry but you can't beat a team and the ref and the freaking bunker,

I never believed that I would say that we were raped but in this game I think we were.
Yes we made to many mistakes
Yes our handling was crap,
But so was the Knights,
What cost us was the brown paper nag to the refs n bunker after the game.
Rant over.
Corruption has long been a part of sports and I am hollering that someone is on the take.

Be interesting to know what 17 people saw in the last few weeks to think we'll win by 13+

One was me, I knew it was wet and would be close but it was blind optimism hoping it would somehow trickle into the team. Def wasn't putting money on that result lol
Will be interested in a couple of areas this week. One is attitude. I’ve wondered if there’s been a bit of complacency and a team buying into their hype a bit and not respecting opposition that most would have had the Warriors as the victors before the balls been kicked off and the favourite to win. Even though the score line would suggest that the souths game was our best, I personally think the storm loss is our best performance this year. This week we face a team in red hot form and form would suggest we get pumped, but the Warriors really have nothing to lose as the heavy underdogs and ideally there’s a response in the challenge. The other interest for me is whether being in Sydney and staying there through the week sees a turn in form. They’ll be together as a squad and you’d like to see a scenario where their backs to the wall sees a bonding session that unites, because I’m seeing a flat team at the moment and would hate to see a fractured playing group

Fair bit of luck not gone our way too this season.. so many close games lost and we have been in them all bar one, Injuries played a huge part here also. I'm def in the camp of WTF ya thinking Webby with your game plans, lack of injection of youth, poor use of the bench and doing the same thing over and over expecting a diff result. Fitness and burnout seems to be major factors (no wonder with the bench use) also in which last year we looked superior in this facet. Def time to try a few things, seasons gone really now sadly.. unless you are top 4 you have a very slim chance (love to be proven wrong of course). I would bring in a few of the younger guys with senior bench cover now and change things up (for gods sakes man). Prob not said anything new but a slow day at work.

Because I'm a masochist, I just watched a replay of the game.

This was your classic "bad day at the office" and as the commentators kept saying the Warriors were just "off their game."

Looking at it objectively, if one of the DWZ disallowed tries was allowed, we would have been looking at a golden point finish.

So it was actually a very close game - the Knights didn't play that well either.

If the Warriors can win this week against the Roosters, I'll start believing again.
