Pick Your Team Warriors v Knights - [Round 8, 2025]

I think it’s a fair question. Definitely didn’t make the most of the opportunities last year. Averaged under 30 run metres per game l and was dragged in the Titans game that he got a start in for defensive lapses.

Agreed that he looked much better defensively against the Broncos but needs to start showing some ability in first grade, as Leka and Demetric did at the same age (or younger)
Good point.

I am showing bias too.

Been following him since his Aotearoa māori tournament days.
Know how capable he can be.

First stint in topside was Rocks and diamonds.
Still showed glimpses.

He is knocking now, needs to fulfill his potential 2nd time around.
Made a good fist of his first opportunity so far.

According to SEN, Knights will get Dylan Lucas back. Haven't watched enough of the Knights to know if Lucas makes much of a difference to their go forward.
Lucas played 'emself into the starting line-up this year (usually warmed the bench the past two years.) Good on attack and same with defence. He'll mos-def help out the ny-nites but we'll still beat 'em down here in Mighty Christchurch! ✊:p

Have to admit- this game is giving me nightmares. The heroics of last week beating a premiership contender with a B team will be all but forgotten if we slip up against a team that can barely score 10 pts a game. The coach is under pressure and according to Knights fans, he becomes a dead man walking if this game is lost. They are trying to rush injured forwards back for this game and have sent them all on a plane to Auckland yesterday from what I understand. Plenty of reasons why we could get ambushed if we take them lightly.

Hope the boys don't rest on their laurels. Given how tight the comp is this year, we really can't afford to drop home games against non-top teams like the Knights. A win here and we could entrench ourselves inside the top 4 and start to put distance between ourselves and the rest of the 8.

the limited Newcastle games I've watched, their central problem is their lack of go-forward. They are running out of middles and their NSW cup replacements clearly aren't ready for first grade. Lucas being an edge player, I don't think helps with that. I'd be a bit more worried if Saifiti, Mad Jack, etc were all coming back for this game.
