He’s really starting to get some unwanted attention in the Aus press
The old cant run without there legs is the flawed technique now, players are so good at offloading thats why the over the top wrestling was started.I’d be interested in seeing a stat relating to what side has the most off loads against them. It could be us which shows our tackling technique is flawed.
Back in the old days our coaches used to say, “ they can’t run without their legs”
I think most fans gave him the benefit of the doubt last season with the memories of 2023 still fresh and the number of injuries we had. There were still many questioning, justifiably, his selections and bench use. I think many had an expectation, maybe increased from the clubs PR social media team, that the work had been done in the off season to get the team back to at least being competitive. The round 1 game in Vegas immediately blew those expectations out the window. Whether it was a one off, which I don't think it was, remains to be seen. The pressure is only going to get worse from here because fans don't want hype and words that are not matched with action. It will be interesting to see AWs and the clubs response. It's fairly clear that AW isn't the finished product. Will he change or adapt? Will he get more support from the club in the form of a director of coaching or mentor? Will he reset and start again this season or push on stubbornly? Is there anyone in the coaching setup that can play bad cop and make the needed tough calls when they are needed? It doesn't look like it at this stage.Unwanted but justified. It really does seem like our attack has stagnated and our defence is leaving clear breaches behind the ruck and out wide. As with last season it appears that teams have us fully figured out. Gone are the perfectly timed set piece moves and instead we are pumping the ball wide well clear of the defensive line who have all the time in the world to shuffle across and mark up. Our defense is also sorely exposed as soon as the team fail to win the ruck. Our C defender has barely had time to get back on side before the opposition are already at arms length attacking him.
Webby needs to evolve and do so very quickly because its not only the Australian media that are baying for blood but there is already unrest from fans and its only been round 1...

Coaches that refuse to adapt always end their tenure as people turn on them and force action. It was very clear that this year was going to a tough watch.
Everyone basing hope on Fish lifting the team and providing the spark.
Still the same old story.
Poor roster.
Youth not getting a crack.
Too many old plodders.
No speed especially out wide.
Poor coaching decisions
I will stop there as it's pretty depressing to read but there's lots more issues starting at the top
Focus was on us as one of only 2 games played. He’s really starting to get some unwanted attention in the Aus press
Great post by Warrior Waka on the Raiders v Warriors thread.Focus was on us as one of only 2 games played.
Vegas could become a famous turning point in Warriors folklore in 10 years time and the beginning of the end if Websters not careful.
You'd have to think the co-captains would be empowered enough to at least ask for a justification of the bench use. While that's not career mentorship for the coach there'd be a fairly strong feedback loop on crucial game management aspects like the interchange. I'm willing to see what happens over the next couple of games to see if there's a good response to being beaten in almost every aspect of play - but there has to be a line signaled from round 2 and for me that is demoting the worst performers from that mess - one from the starting second row and probably the FB. The latter is more difficult because of the injuries and greater lack of depth, however the solution is sitting right there for the second row. Of course you can't make changes for changes sake - there has to be a clear cause and assessment criteria for greater success - the second row performance meant we couldn't play to an intended plan, replacements in that postion will have to be judged on delivering whatever that is as well - we haven't seen this new attacking structure yet and we are certainly getting done in our defence because of poor inside reads and effort - can Vaimauga and Halasima open up more space on attack around the edges, can they stop the collapse from inside on defence? ..etc.I think most fans gave him the benefit of the doubt last season with the memories of 2023 still fresh and the number of injuries we had. We have to let him see out his contract, we can't have any more mid contract coach swaps, it's never worked for us in the past and just makes us look fkn clueless.I give andrew Webster this year & see where the team ends up if it's at the bottom end of the ladder change is needed.
But a time will come where Websters over ruled and management start telling Webster how to run the team to keep sponsors/ fans happy ala Kearney. We have to let him see out his contract, we can't have any more mid contract coach swaps, it's never worked for us in the past and just makes us look fkn clueless.
Our roster may look very different by that time, but he needs to start now by adressing some of the glaring concerns..... selections, bench use, trust in youth etc.....
Sometimes I wish 2023 never happened, it's turned everything arse about face as far as trying to measure any progress. We haven't been anywhere near trying to replicate it and doesn't look like we will anytime soon.
Warriors staff - coaches, CEO and owner on the turps in Vegas ….
Before or after the game? If it was after, who could blame them.Warriors staff - coaches, CEO and owner on the turps in Vegas ….
I dont that will happen. His wagon is hitched to too many others at the club that it would create a jack knife effect from the field to the office. I thinks its in everyone's best interests to let him carry on and continue to plug holes, spin PR and make the most of any successes. I see him getting till at least Blueys round next season...I give andrew Webster this year & see where the team ends up if it's at the bottom end of the ladder change is needed.
