To me a big concern is he is repeating the mistakes of previous Warriors coaches. The favourites or the guys with names are unlikely to be dropped.

When his signing was announced he talked about how his side wouldn't be beaten on effort, would defend resolutely. There were some big statements before he arrived. 2023 the team did all of that. Since then you can see the confidence in the side declining as time has gone on.

You can argue on the weekend that Stuart out coached him. The changes before kick off didn't really work. Last year it did seem like we had been worked out.

Hopefully he lays down the law when they return from Vegas. Besides the forwards we are limited in where we can make changes.

He's been waiting a long time for this opportunity. Everyone wants him to succeed especially after how well things started.

The raiders just pulled out pants down and he was invisible. If he's truly that guy then make some damaging runs, out some good shots on in defence.
He can't though as everyone in the opposition is just as massive as he is. This is the NRL the sound of the bodies colliding in the last 5 years is like nothing I grew up with in the 1980s. The tackles and hits are designed to hurt and delivered with precision and knowledge that we have no idea about but to them is a sceince.

The best he can do is hold his own in each collision. He is a monster. The opposition are all monsters too. He is our monster in the fight. His best asset is hit ups where we have no momentum going and they have a good defensive set happening. He gets decent PCMs and will make a set changing hit up for his team which his team mates love but gets him no press or appreciation on this forum unfortunately. He is a players player not a fans player. That said he was a poor last year for reasons that are well documented. He rebounded in pre season and held his own as an NRL standard player on the weekend and was a step up from Capewell.

So how does he stop us getting sand kicked in our face? I don't think he has had a higher than 6/10 game since 2923 for us. In the weekend he was flaccid.

Since he has joined our team no one has kicked sand in our face. And definitely not on the weekend. We probably have the scariest pack in the comp. No one is trying shit with us this year. We may not win many games but we will be the intimidator and not the other way around. This will probably end up with some Ws for us.
We have three of the toughest enforcers in the league. The 2025 Wariors may or may not make the playoffs but they are a candidate for being our toughest meanest pack since inception in 1995

1 Barnett
2 Fish
3 Niukore

No one is starting shit with us. And on a positive note this should give our halves quite a bit of freedom and confidence - they should improve as they realise this. Look for Metcalf and CHT to be better next game now that I think about this just because of how tough our forwards are the space and time they will give our backs to operate.
Keary chicken winged SJ in a cheap shot last year. That will not be happening to our halves this year.
Be happy we have Niukore - He, Fish and Barnett deliver huge intangibles to this team.

lol you’re in fantasy land. What did he do when he Bennet got shoulder charged? Probably hiding behind the ruck, avoiding work as usual.

I’ve seen his type before.

I don't want AW sacked as I don't think there is any other better choice for us but what do we think will happen if we end up 0-6 to start the year and our play is still unexciting and robotic. There must be only so much rope Mohawk will be willing to give?

Some serious deep soul searching if we go 0-6

Prefer not to think the worst
Said it before the season kicked off. I still can't see where we are going to score enough points in games to win. Unless AW makes some needed changes or manages to spark something from the side. If you think about last season we were looking at giving the tigers competition for the spoon.

So everyone’s a monster except ours is $800K against their second rower monsters that I don’t even know their names, probably half the price tag too

We have Godzilla and Moth on the bench (cheap Kaijus) but they only came on when we were 24 points behind while the new Ford EV gives us net zero post contact meters most of the time (chatbot time 😂)
