Politics 🤡 Donald Trump

I was meaning his new V.P running mate compared Trump to Hitler and called him an "idiot" & "never trump guy" in public statements (amongst other things) before Trump became president.

It's an interesting story as he is now a very staunch loyalist... I guess political opportunism his a hell of a drug.

Anyone read hillbilly elegy? Wife says it’s a pretty good look at what went wrong with the US post reganonmics. The opioid crisis in rural America. She was surprised he became a republican as he’s definitely had his struggles. So an interesting dynamic to throw into the mix, maybe he is just an opportunist, but not the usual Christian right VP chosen

It’s true bro, the liberals go to such extremes. There use to be old school liberals who believed in freedom of speech etc, individual rights etc. People like Maher and others, who now find themselves centre right due to the extreme movement of the left. The extreme liberals are the controlling authoritarians today, they stomp on freedoms and don’t believe in individual rights but the common good much like Hitler. They want all the hate speech laws, censorship, big government and are desperate to hold on power, so use the media to control narratives and character assasinate people who don’t fit their mold. They use race issues and LGBT issues to manipulate the masses, but don’t really care about black folk but simply manipulate the issues to manipulate people. If we accept their rubbish, we are submitting to their control. The media are complicit in the lefts sickness. The left creates huge problems and uses them to control the masses through fear. They need the media but because truth is so compelling they have to try and shut down other narratives or platforms that are free. People around the world are seeing through it, and people like Trump are symbols against the controlling globalist classes of the left. He is anti globalistic and pro America first which shatters the globalist elites aims to guide/control the world. Trump isn’t perfect but he allows individual rights/freedoms and says what he thinks not what he’s told. Just my view…

New Zealand citizen connection to VP running mate…talking about his rise to Ohio senator.

‘Although his campaign was initially slow to get going, he got a kick-start via a $US10 million donation by his former boss, Silicon Valley power broker Peter Thiel.’

Local Wānaka boy…

This whole thing feels like a few chapters from a Jack Reacher novel (I know one of his early books I've read was about taking out a sniper who was killing political candidates).

Quite surreal in a decade chock full of surreality so far :ROFLMAO:

We are never gonna find out exactly what happened (see : JFK ;)), but I'm guessing this Crooks dude was a useful idiot.

Fits the standard "lone gunman" type (puny white bullied loner), probably had anti-Trump rhetoric online (which will have been scrubbed long before he was formally identified) and got befriended by "someone" who shared his views and subtly nudged him in the "wow imagine being known as the guy who finally took out Trump!" train of thought, maybe heard from this "someone" about the location of the rally and oh hey look at this building over here, which secret service/local authorities deemed as "nah surely don't need anyone there" for whatever reason :ROFLMAO:

But I am influenced by things like thriller novels/movies/TV so don't mind me hah!

Uhh he also fits the standard unhinged gunman who do actually go shoot up innocent people for no reason.

Not OK to appoint a Democratic lawyer as the prosecutor but OK to appoint a Republican Judge - go figure!

Unfortunately the legal system in USA has been politicised
Attorneys who authorize the investigation and prosecution of federal crimes must be officers of the United States because they wield significant government power. Under the clause, there are just two ways of qualifying as an officer of the United States: the appointee must either be (a) nominated by the president and confirmed by the Senate, or (b) appointed to a position that “shall be established by law” — which is to say, by a congressional statute.

Smith, who has run the Trump investigations since his SC appointment by Garland on November 18, 2022, was not appointed under either of those procedures. To the contrary, he was purportedly appointed under the Justice Department’s SC regulations.

Also don’t forget most recent presidents have had classified documents and not been charged. Including Biden, who wasn’t charged because he was too old.

So many possibilities, but the most mundane is most likely. Like Lee Harvey Oswald. The dude was just unhinged. I mean there is a lot of mystery, but he was also just an unusual character and not be able to be part of a giant conspiracy.

Related to the JD Vance, Peter Thiel, Silicon Valley connection - this is one of the best long form journalism reads about NZ and wealthy elites. Are we a utopia or a bolthole? Who know?

It is funny tho, the right and trump railing against global elites when Trump is certainly part of it, and his most powerful backers certainly so.

Comparisons to Hiter?

Hitler survived 42 assassination attempts. Trumps only had his first!
In theory not practicality, different times, it's hard to just murder a leader these days, but if you want to throw on attempts of political assassination 2 impeachments, the court cases the indictments etc.
Legal cyber and psychological warfare is the way now

Big week for Trump!

The legal case accusing him of taking classified documents has been dismissed after a judge ruled that the appointment of the lawyer prosecuting him was unconstitutional.

Wow. Feeds perfectly into his narrative that the case was political and everyone’s out to get him.

This guy has more lives than a cat.
Yet boden can't stand for the same crime because he is considered to old and senile, but is allowed to be president and potentially run again.
Also they won't release the tapes of the biden and hurr even when it's been subpoena, Merrick Garland refuses, that's what they locked Bannon up for.
Sounds like rules for Republicans and rules for democrats.

In a way the assanation attempt on Trump is a microcosm of why the US is getting weaker and weaker.

The failure to cover that rooftop was an unforgiveable lapse. The Secret Service 10 years ago would not have made that lapse. Why is that? The Secret Service is engaging in diversity jorong wanting it to be 30% female by 2030.

This does not acknowledge the skill and physical requirements. Their hiring in the past were people with military, particularly special forces trained, which are overwhelmingly male. So the '30 by 30' target is just a political statement not based in reality. Women can fulfill the roles but need to be trained.

This is happening in all society, especially the military..
Dei and affirmative action does not work, it shows there is a bunch of Marxists and communists in charge, the u.s is fast becoming very soviet like.
What happened to meritocracy?

Didn't his own recently announced running partner once compare him to Hitler?

And you go on about Liberal media...
Yes, can't hide that fact, trump doesn't always make the best choices, Byron Donald's may have been a better choice, I don't think he was on the shortlist.

Vance did make those comments in 2016 tho, perhaps he's a change of ideas, or he is a grifter hungry for power

Yes mis represented, it jas come from a thinktank Trump doesn't know much about it but has said some of the ideas in it are abhorrent, trump is not going to install project 25
This is real interesting. There are two Christian schools on this issue. 1) Believes Church and State should work together. 2) The other believes Church and state need to be separate.
2025 project is a push for the Church and state to work together. Problem is historically that has almost always lead to massive issues. This is where Trump is most vulnerable to making his biggest mistake. He will be tempted to give groups like the 2025 project too much power.

It sounds like Iran where you have no separation of religion and state. Handmaids tale book was based upon this premise. God help the US if they bring in this.
