Never heard anyone argue that, even the most hardcore Labour voter

National was voted in with a clear policy platform with aims to encourage productivity, the economy, realign taxes, reduce and demand efficiency from the public services, etc.

Most of this was returning policy to what it was before Labour changed it.

When the left argue against simply returning policies to pre Labour they are actually saying the failed ideological policies of Labour are better despite all evidence saying otherwise. Blinded by their ideology. Blinded to it failing. Blinded at how bad NZ had became.

Example: removing interest deductibility - which no other country has in the world, treasury advised against it and it’s failed with less housing and higher rent. Yet how many times do we hear the left criticise returning things to the worldwide normal as though it was a great policy?

By all means fight for a fairer, better, more equal, etc society. But do it based on the fundamentals that achieve this - not the last Labours warped policies that can only; and did lead to failure.

Three Waters was going to cost far more for worse outcomes as shown in Scotland where they have more boil water notices than in NZ and where the major of money for new infrastructure is provided in the main cities disportioncate to the population. Three Waters was designed to be the same…. the designer of the Scottish system was the same one brought in to establish the system here.

One thing you can guarantee is they will make a statement on some figures. Then we get is that a total or additional?

We get it with additional/new policemen, doctors or teachers.

Mark Mitchell sounds like he's doing a who is on first routine.

"Are the 810 new beds, are they on top of the 500 already being built at Waikeria?" the Government was asked.

"No, no," Mitchell replied.

"So, you're only doing 200 extra beds, not 800 extra beds?" the Government was asked.

"No, there's an extra 800 beds going into the system," Luxon said

"But 600 of them were funded by the Labour Government?" they were asked.

"Well, well," Mitchell replied.

Just 200 more beds the Government said, not 800.

"I think what we're doing is we're re-staking our commitment as the incoming Government to get that delivered," Mitchell said.

Victor Communications was asked by the Maritime Union to write a report on the impact of outsourcing the POAL operations. Clint Smith has then repeatedly used the report in his articles/blogs to defend his POV of a prospective sale. What’s laughable is that Smith wrote the report in his role as a director of Victor Communications.

It’s like someone writing a report on the possible sale of the Auckland Harbour Bridge without any evidence backing it up and then quoting that report as their evidence in a blog saying it was for sale.

An Auckland Council committee last month voted 12-11 in favour of consulting ratepayers on a budget proposal that could see the council sell the right to run the port to a private company that would then charge customers.
