I'm sure that the owners of the 2700 businesses that have gone broke in the last 12 months will be bouyed by your optimisn.
I see every notice published in the NZ Gazette and it is depressing @John Nick to see the number of businesses every day that have gone to the wall.

Earlier in the week there was a notice from the Official Assignee listing the new liquidations they had taken on this week and the list ran to over 20!

Edit: I have just gone back and counted them - it was 59!

One thing I don’t like about democracy is that there’s always a group who don’t care who gets hurt provided the economy goes downhill enough that there’s a change in government…. provided, of course, they aren’t hurt too much themselves.
I think I interact with a couple of that group on here......

The positive upturn in the data coming through at the moment means that soon we will be going well again and no more businesses shutting. That’s something to be positive about!

We’ve had 5 years of business stress since Covid started and I’m ready for a rock star economy again. All these businesses going bust now have never recovered from COVID times.

5 long hard years! Bring on the good times!

Good luck with your optimism and I really hope you are right. My point was that a lot of people don't share your thoughts regardless of what you or the Coalition spin
