when the man was heard saying "you're a load of bollocks, Winston". Peters replied "you look like bollocks, go look in the mirror sunshine". Then the heckler replied "you're a tosser".

The pair started yelling at each other, with Peters yelling "naff off".

“You’re 80 years old now, isn’t it time you naffed off,” the heckler responded. Peters replied: "So it's an age thing, is it? You look older than I do".

Ole Winnie still got it.
If “it” is still being a pisshead drunk, yeah he’s got it

Not a good look for our Deputy PM .Mouthing off at a heckler while decrying the standards in the House.

Yeah I think the heckler got the point across that many would agree. We can be thankful it wasn’t another politician making the remark or us taxpayers would be footing another defamation case on behalf of Winston

There are more non professional people leaving for Oz as it has always been. The untrained, unqualified have way more lucrative job opportunities in Australia then here. Nothing has changed. If Australia has a general wage difference of +25% and you are on the bones of your arse here, why wouldn't you go? As approx 600k have.
Their campaign to attract police, nurses and the like suggests it’s not just the untrained and unqualified with NZ struggling to recruit in these two areas for instance

That's true, there will always be trained or professional people going as well but the numbers of others is also large. 600k is a lot of punters. Having 10 or 11% of our population sitting over there is not a good look for the country overall.

Australia has always as far back as I can remember been a place for better remuneration than NZ. Everyone has their reasons for going and yes, money (and conditions) is a big driver. So is my fear of snakes and deadly spiders.

The main thing I miss is the weather. As I get older winter hits me hard here.

As mentioned yesterday, many return so it’s the factors you mentioned that we can address on missing their contributions throughout their working careers. Of course we can’t change the weather and some of the things that make it more attractive for some, but it’s tough for the average Kiwi when immigration is used to fill positions in some sectors and the immigrants are prepared to work for lower wages than the NZer and keeps wages low. Some would argue that the employer will hire who’s best for the role, but being in the trades, the attitude I’ve encountered often is that money talks whether the job will be up to the same standard or not

Hypocrisy from the so called leaders of free speech. Libertarian bullshit.

A hard right government displaying autocratic behaviour.
Free speech doesn't mean free from consequence.

And they aren't being called to task for what they said but how they went about it, which is against long standing rules that are there to prevent intimidation and disruption in the house.

Agree on the free speech doesn't mean free from consequence.

But the magnitude of punishment does not match the crime in this case. Indeed it is well out of proportion

And they were exercising free speech against an appalling racist bill.

And let's bring some focus back to the mp Parmjeet Parmar hey? Investigating if they could be jailed? Come on.
