So working in the northern hemisphere means he’d return to work on the 3rd or the 4th because it’s winter there. You do realise that NZ is in the southern hemisphere so people actually take their summer holidays now?

Hey, that was Luxon's words when the Nats were trying to say that New Zealanders shouldn't take so much time off over christmas. Not mine!

And the American actions certainly warrant a PM response. That's part of being the Prime Minister.

The Greens quick to respond when they have no power, accountability or responsibility and don't have to actually do anything themselves.

Not so quick when it comes to addressing issues in their own party it seems

The Greens who had repeatedly called out (and rightly so) for democracy to be restored in Venezuela, for NZ to recognise that Maria Corinda Machado should be president (even though she wasn’t able to run during the election) and called out human rights abuses and for NZ to take more refugees but now don’t like that the dictator behind this has been removed?

Like all political parties, the Greens are looking for popular things to raise.

Heaven forbid the PM should go on holiday like the rest of us.... I don't think Luxon is far enough up the international food chain to get a heads up from Trump to cancel his holiday so he could issue a statement on Venezuela or that Luxon would know when hackers were going to schedule a cyber attack.

Oh, and I can't find any releases by the Leader of the Opposition either.... but perhaps he should enjoy a holiday and not the PM.

Sorry to tell you but since the 1950’s NZ has had a Duty Minister during the summer holidays.

What should be off more concern is that for most of December, all of January and until the second week off February, Parliament doesn’t sit and there’s no select committee meetings so a number of MP’s take an eight week break from Wellington….. and we thought teachers get the best holidays…. Sorry, it’s our Lords and Masters!!!

Didnt he say he would be back first week of January.
