If there is a better option it will be voted in next election. Until then #UpTheWahsI just hope he's wrong about the fascist slave dystopia that's about to befall us, it's a bit alarming, especially on game day

I think the media HAS to stop ending every article for Kiwis with “and this predominantly effects Maori and Pacifica” or if they do explain why, some of its culture, others it’s lifestyle, it’s just adding to the already high divide in this country, just supply the stats and and not mention it, skin cancer is high amounts pakeha, yet the never mention at the end of the article “this predominantly effects pakeha” it’s almost as the left wing biased media is trying to pit Pakeha against Maori and PIs.![]()

Okay, I'll take one go at unpacking this, there's a lot here and I'll probably stop early.I think the media HAS to stop ending every article for Kiwis with “and this predominantly effects Maori and Pacifica” or if they do explain why, some of its culture, others it’s lifestyle, it’s just adding to the already high divide in this country, just supply the stats and and not mention it, skin cancer is high amounts pakeha, yet the never mention at the end of the article “this predominantly effects pakeha” it’s almost as the left wing biased media is trying to pit Pakeha against Maori and PIs.
Go look at The Facts from Geoff who is a NZ journalist who supplies stats, on media, he has got everything you need to know about left wing bias of MSM in NZ, particularly The Herald, One News, RNZ and Stuff, our biggest media outlets. My point is that every article on any thing wether it’s drownings, obesity, Covid, always ends with Maori and PI are overly represented, and IMO creates a divide, I would bet money that as we progress as a nation these stats are better than they were 20 years ago or further so why don’t they report that? They could say diabetes in Maori and PI people used to be 50% but over the last 20 years has dropped to 35% for example. I guess my point is that until the MSM in NZ report events in an unbiased way I for one will not follow them and I can guess by their abysmal ratings others are feeling the same.Okay, I'll take one go at unpacking this, there's a lot here and I'll probably stop early.
The media. What exactly do you mean by the media? Those two words in a particular context imply that you have a particular slant, which to me is immediately coming from a culture war perspective, but I could be wrong.
It implies that you believe that there is an amorphous group who are "against" another amorphous group, probably in this case "the right" or "those who believe in free speech". How am I doing here?
Second - your singling out "predominantly effects (sic) Maori and Pacifica" - guess what? All of the negative stats show these two groups as being over represented, through economic and social impact and constraints that are part of our society. This is fact.
Third - you're choosing something random like skin cancer, that really has nothing to do with the article and somehow this is a left wing bias?
Fourth - what's your definition of left?
So yep.
The Herald was actually rated as the most balanced of the MSM.Go look at The Facts from Geoff who is a NZ journalist who supplies stats, on media, he has got everything you need to know about left wing bias of MSM in NZ, particularly The Herald, One News, RNZ and Stuff, our biggest media outlets. The site links with Reality Check Radio and other "alternative" generally right and far right networks.Go look at The Facts from Geoff who is a NZ journalist who supplies stats, on media, he has got everything you need to know about left wing bias of MSM in NZ, particularly The Herald, One News, RNZ and Stuff, our biggest media outlets. You realise these are just for recording purposes...Have a look where your ethnicity ranks in Te Whatu Ora’s priority rankings:

If you think it’s nobody’s business what ethnicity you are - to the bottom of the pile you go!
Of course he’s not fucking right, he’s completely full of shit.I just hope he's wrong about the fascist slave dystopia that's about to befall us, it's a bit alarming, especially on game day
The trial wasn't that bad mate!Of course he’s not fucking right, he’s completely full of shit.
I couldn’t even watch the game - went to turn on Sky for the first time in about a month & it said to contact the bastards because I wasn’t subscribed to the sports channel anymore! The trial wasn't that bad mate!![]()
In your opinion. Sorry Inruin, just borrowing your phrase, completely appropriate context I think.Of course he’s not fucking right, he’s completely full of shit.
Nothing going on at all....nothing to see here.....nothing..... https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/politica...ill-slammed-as-dangerous-call-for-alarm-bellsI couldn’t even watch the game - went to turn on Sky for the first time in about a month & it said to contact the bastards because I wasn’t subscribed to the sports channel anymore!
But back on this thread - why are people giving this bloke oxygen, Luxon is a prized muppet but aside from his hopeless leadership there’s nothing overly sinister going on.
The Herald was actually rated as the most balanced of the MSM.
But would you not say unbiased reporting is reporting the facts, which is what the media are doing with these statistics?
Il give you a couple of example, head of TVNZ Nevak Rogers took sick leave to join the Hikoi (no problem there) but then broadcasted this fact over her Facebook page that’s what she was doing, clearly she has a bias. Mihingarangi Forbes was paid 500k by Labour do do talkback specials to her broadcasting venture,, clearly bias. Now this has nothing to do with the hikoi as I am impartial to this. But it does show that both these leaders in their jobs have a clear bias. Did Labour get this much scrutiny from their last 3 years that National have? Also one question to you, why do you think the msm outlets I have mentioned are all losing money and restructuring? The site links with Reality Check Radio and other "alternative" generally right and far right networks.
The main thing is not get drawn into far right conspiracy and disinformation.Nothing going on at all....nothing to see here.....nothing..... https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/politica...ill-slammed-as-dangerous-call-for-alarm-bells
And any number of other bits of factual information I've posted.
Honestly? I just hope that over the coming months and years of this open authoritarianism and fascism around the world, and through our very own Act and National, that the actions can be seen as they are - naked grabs for power and wealth, of the rich, by the rich for the rich.
Up to you guys really, always is, always will be, each to their own etc.
I’ve been told otherwise, by a surgeon that was directed by te whatu ora’s non medical staff, to reprioritise his surgeries based on their race-based rankings. Overriding his rankings, which were based on medical needsYou realise these are just for recording purposes...
Both state owned. Not MSM, which you haven't defined.Il give you a couple of example, head of TVNZ Nevak Rogers took sick leave to join the Hikoi (no problem there) but then broadcasted this fact over her Facebook page that’s what she was doing, clearly she has a bias.
