Yeah, what's next? Privatised hospitals and services, health insurance or no access etc etc
Unique nz mores (socialism NOT communism) have been access to low cost health, education, housing & social support. All about to go out the window for the money-hungry, care less corps.
It wasn't perfect but it didn't punish the poor or the middle class. But hey, these days they're expendable.
Wealth & profit rules. Especially if you don't have to share it around.
Call me oldfashioned but money alone doesn't make you happy - luxuries are a fleeting pastime, your kids will still despise you lol & IF we must have governments and politicians, their no.1 role should be looking after ALL the people, the majority of whom are way more than the rich bu**ers who think they know more than anyone else - why? Well said Juno. And yes, privatisation, asset stripping and selling off the country is what's next. This is one of the most far right ideological government's we've had. Not to mention racist, with the aim of stripping indigenous rights to open up mining and get corporations access to untouched land and resources.

Well Inruin, in old money Labour is centre right, National is Right and Act is far right. Nz First are probably centre right with a dose of loonyism. As I've mentioned many, many, many times the terms of debate are so twisted now that Labour is considered left.

Truly, the only real left, whatever that is, is probably the greens.

All in my opinion.

Labour are neolib light. National are neoliberal, Act are hardcore neoliberal, fascist neolib shall we say.

So when I say of the rich, by the rich, for the rich, generally, that's in right and far right territory. Generally.

The billionaires look after their own.

I'll say it one more time - neoliberalism is a vicious form of capitalism that is extreme and is favoured by the uber wealthy as the best means of wealth extraction for them and those like them.

I appreciate your viewpoint. For me nearly everything was worse under the last government so it's kind of weird to me that people are crying about everything now. They, 'the left' are ineffective in opposition now because they were completely incompetent in government then. Same with this for the rich rhetoric when the poor were demonstrably getting hammered over the last several years.

You have been asked to just provide an example of a successful country that has something similar to what you think. I've even asked you if you were in charge back in Oct 2023 what you would have done to get things back under control.

I have a few times back, quite a few times. If I was to favour anything it will be socialist capitalist if there is such a thing any more, more the German/Scandinavian styles, but to be honest, we're drowning here, this country is getting worse and worse due to the politics of austerity.

Anything but the extremes we live under. This National/Act coalition have turned off the supply chain based on ignorance and ideology, and they're maneuvring to privatise and sell of as much as they can. No doubt to their backers. It's utterly corrupt and wrong.

Who says I have to provide anything? What is happening in this country is morally repugnant and wrong to me - ethics are more important than politics in my opinion. That should be clear.
