Self interest always rules politics. Civics as a means of progressing society is dying in the west.

Set up a Norway style royalty tax scheme on oil and gas, then use that money to buy farms up off farmers to build a national land bank.

Set a national food reserve system similar to petroleum. Mandate domestic supply.

Develop new hydroelectric stations and even micro nuclear plants for industry.

That would be my start.

Why I would feel sorry for him if he is gay and has come out that is a very difficult thing for him to do in his position.

He descries his wife as his best friend, so if he has a new squeeze that sounds interesting to say the least.
