I wouldn’t bank on getting much more with a CGT either.
We increase the tax rate by a huge percentage in 6 years with nothing to show for it so why would another lump sum in tax take make any difference.
Seems the big tax grab actually just damaged the real economy.
It seems to me that there is enough money for the government to spend but it's just not being spent enough on the right things and when it is, not efficiently enough

Well, I didn’t want to make it political but since you took the bait, the IMF predicted all this prior to the 2023 election, which we discussed about at length in this thread:
So Labour stuffed the economy, and prior to the election a reputable international external authorities predicted this year exactly correctly…
And now people with their head in the sand are trying to rewrite history and blame National. Looks like some of us have their eyes wide open, keep up and know exactly what’s happening before it happens and some others are blinkered and bewildered about why things happen and lash out at the easiest target because they just don’t understand
