I think this is a disaster in the making if we allowed that.

I think we have it right. Made the right call on Gaza, which is becoming more and more correct as time goes on. I think the Government should take the required time and make a statement in behalf of NZ when the time is right. Plenty of people including opposition MPs rush in and have their say but ultimately that's easy for them when they don't have any other considerations to worry about

Disagree on Gaza but think you are right about this one. Do it with the rest of the gang or do it on the quiet or you just going to get egg on your face.

And, yes, it's driven by those on the right around the world right now, the oligarchs, the billionaires, the growing fascism, the authoritarians. Feel free to point out any kind of socialist or true leftist democracy taking part in this. China ain't left, it's an authoritarian dictatorship with leanings towards capitalism. Russia ain't left. Neither are democracies. I'd argue the states isn't a democracy either, not truly.

You see yourself as centrist Inruin, fair enough. That might be because the world you live in is quite far right, which is your choice, I've also pointed out generally quite a few times on here as well that some of the arguments presented are so far right that me, little old me who is only just left in old school money, seems to be some kind of threat to you conservative righties.

Of course it was the right call on Gaza and Winston outlined why it was. There currently is no Palestine state to recognize, that is indisputable fact That should be the end of the argument. Just because it doesn't align with pro Palestine rhetoric doesn't make it wrong.

As for the rest, you have had plenty wrong, pointed out and proven wrong, categorically wrong. Hell, you even post links to articles you haven't even read that prove the point you are trying to make wrong.

The world must seem far right compared to your extreme left views which are in the minority for this country. Whatever you want to call them, left or right, fascist or communist, your views are in the minority for this country and sit well outside, on the fringe, of the vast majority of the populations views.

You aren't a threat at all, I actually no longer have the time, desire or inclination to even worry about the noise you create when, even after being asked several times, you refuse or perhaps can't, even point to a country that demonstrates successfully utilusing the utopia you seem so eager to bleat on about. I don't like this one but I can't show you a better one. Guess that's the joy of the Internet.

Question 1. No of course not, not remotely similar and a pointless comparison. Here's a counter question - why don't libertarians pay their fair share of tax?

Question 2. It's the good for all in the opinion, or rather strategy of the powers behind this current administration. In other words, only for the good of them, no one else. Which does sum up the right at the moment, and always has really, it's just that we're seeing a more extreme form.

And really, honestly wiz, new 2026 and all that - imposing state control over our freedoms, what does that even mean?

And don't give me bullshit about the pandemic please. If you can't differentiate the need for public health and safety, and temporary measures as a result that saved tens of thousands of lives, that were removed as soon as practical and trying to compare that to the actions of a dictatorship, it's not worth it.

By the way, you do know what actions the right are doing right now, removing freedoms all over the place of the people - look at the US. That's state control. That's authoritarianism.
