Social 💪 Savage September

Nice, I've got a garden I need to do as well. I need to take the top layer of soil and grass off first. With my old wooden handled spade. Keep putting it off because it's going to be a bitch to do. It's about 5m x 5m. If I leave it a bit longer it could be next year's job. Now we are in 'no excuses November' I'm a bit conflicted
I live on the shore which is all clay based. I got quoted to dig up the top and get it redone. Decided it would be a nice to have. Kids can continue to play in soggy grounds. We also have drains going through our backyard. I was hoping it would be better when we got the garage built and we found out one of the drains wasn't capped properly. Two houses I've owned and we have had similar issues. Damn builders from the 60s.

We have got a bit of landscaping done recently which will now keep me busy. Painting new retaining walls. Tidying up the painting around the word. Painting fences. Washing and oiling the deck furniture followed by oiling the deck.

Got some new kit from To a Tee (TAT) equipment that I assembled today. The aim is to complete a full range of motion Nordic Curl before I'm 40 so I've given myself roughly 3 months to do so. Plenty of work ahead to achieve that. Hopefully don't faceplant & brake my nose along the way
That looks intense. I had to googlize it to see what it was. I can do the forward bit but yep I'd faceplant at about 85°.

I got a bike ride in this morning followed by more work outside. Then a weight session this afternoon.

I have more kids sports in the evenings this month compared to October which is going to make scheduling a challenge. At least it is daylight savings hours now.

My internet speed has been crap. But re fitness and health.

Pilates and stretching. Calf raises and foot extensor stretching. Crazy how I need to do foot exercises but such is life.

I need to do more of the calf and foot exercises.

I have been pretty full on with work so far this month. Managed to tackle the garden project. Ripped out existing plants and as much of the roots as I could. I've skimmed about half of the area so far of grass by spade. Missed a couple of stretching sessions this week and need to make up for them. Diet has been good though. Weigh in Friday and Im hoping for a low 98's or even a high 97's which I would be over the moon with.

I got a weights session in after the kids' sports yesterday. It should be a little easier to schedule things in tonight and over the weekend.

Hopefully out on the bike again before doing work around the house.

I've mentioned before that I let my right hip get tight as a nuns c#nt last summer & today I had a breakthrough.
Popped up on the surfboard with no dramas, not even a hint of a restriction. The hours of pigeon stretches & curtsy lunges has finally paid off
The main thing I have found out over the last few years is that there is no quick fix. You either put the work in or accept what you've got.

Day off so got in some tree pruning which got a good sweat up and worked sawing muscles. Then tried unsuccessfully to dig out some root bearing cuttings from a clumpy of tiger grass. That sucker's roots are hard core. Stretching tonight and that's a wrap for the week.

Gardening most of the day. Was mildly physical and quite therapeutic. Filled and placed some large outdoor pot plants. Pruned some of the invasive bush back. Now stretching after tea.

Progress being made on the garden. Old plants removed including the roots as much as possible. Bought a 1.6m steel pry bar about half through doing them and saved a heap of time and energy. Still a good workout with the weight of the bar. Skimmed off the grass and approximately 5 cm underneath as well. Laid paver garden edge with readycrete to hold them in place. Planting this week, then compost layer, weed mat, river stones.
Stretching tonight for half hour is on the menu tonight

I got another ride in this morning. Not much work done outside due to weather not looking the best and visitors coming over.

I wasn't planning on doing much. Keeping the late afternoon free for the Kiwis game.
