I held on to him as a reserve, but can draw a line through this week as I captained Dylan Edwards so am now way behind. Might have to think about Ponga or Haas for next week as I've still got a bit of cash on hand on top of Edwards value which will drop.So who sold the next immortal Luke Metcalf during the week & now regrets it? I was close to pulling the trigger.
Yeah nrlfantasy scoring is...different. its an ok score for a half. Cleary averaged around 80 last few seasons in sc. But with all fantasy games check BE, buy low, sell high, have the top averaging players with few pods by end of the season.Hi A new person question
Humphreys scored 55 week one and 70 this week. Is that really good for Super Coach - is that a must have for next week?
In NRL fantasy classic with their scoring system he is out scoring Cleary and is the number one half in the game.
That huge boot must be good for fantasy! I don’t think he’s a must have in SuperCoach, but could be a good move for Duffy owners.Hi A new person question

I stayed away from Tom because of his injury proneness....but I also knew if he stayed healthy he would beast it. So t was a hard call.Got Turbo at Fullback and Walsh at flex which looked good last round, not so much this week
Yeah, I was actually planning on Latrell and Walsh but that didn't pan out. I'll likely stick with Walsh with the broncos run of suncorp home games coming up. Turbo is going thoughI stayed away from Tom because of his injury proneness....but I also knew if he stayed healthy he would beast it. So t was a hard call.
I went all in on Walsh in both competitions. He 23 this year. If he is ever going to be Dally M this is the year. He either lives up to his potential or he doesn't (my view only). I am not reading too much into his effort last night as the Raiders also disrupted some of our spine. Raiders will get found out after rounds 6 or 7 when the video analysts unlock their new leading edge defensive system that has jagged them two wins on the bounce. But for now they taking away time and space.
Hi Murray2 trades per week, but you have 5 boost trades that you can use 1 per week, 5 times. Over the major bye rounds, I believe you will get 4 trades?
Prices are changed after the end of the 2nd week (except the Titans and Storm who will have only played 1 round) and then continue to change weekly, so a lot of people make the maximum trades + a boost after the end of next round to right as many wrongs as they can, and add as much value as you can via low break evens. Worth remembering If you have a player that is making his debut mid season it will take 2 games before their price updates, so try to wait until the end of their 2nd week before buying, in case of injury, or non selection after 1 game.
Clear as mud I would imagine, hoping it helps though!
Up the top you will see 5 boost trades,(where it shows your remaining trades)you need to activate a boost for this round, once activated you will get an additional trade.Hi Murray
I only used one trade after round one but it isn't giving me three trades this round?? So it really is two trades per round and use them or lose them???
SuperCoach has worked hard to get the formula right for scoring - back when I first started the top scoring position was second row. My first ever captain was Eels offload king Feleti Mateo & high work rate players such as Anthony Lafranchi & Chris Heighington were SuperCoach gods. Corey Parker & Pail Gallen averaged in the 70-80 region whereas Darren Lockyer could barely average above mid-teens.Here's my unofficial comparison of NRL Fantasy vs Super Coach Strengths and Weaknesses - will cross post this into the Fantasy thread as well
1) NRL Fantasy has better software and more money spent on user testing. SuperCoach breaks a few usability rules from web design.
2) SuperCoach scores the players way better. The scores reflect how well the person actually played. NRL Fantasy can be a bit LOL at times with below average real life players being must have game changing players who if you don't have them you lose. This can be a bit of a mind fuck at times when goobers like Max Plath last year were decisive.
3) SuperCoach has 26 players vs 21 in Fantasy- this leads to two advantages. Got a choice between taking two players? Why not take both. Secondly with 26 players you can carry some dead wood. With Fantasy dead wood kills you. Each of the 21 positions is vital. I have Vaimauga in both SuperCoach and Fantasy, In SuperCoach he does not harm as a non counting player. In Fantasy I am often having to play him when others get injured.
4) SuperCoach's 18th man is terrific. While a similar problem is solved by "looping" in fantasy which is tough to learn and a barrier to new comers.
5) Fantasy has radically improved this year over SOO with only requiring 13 over minor bye rounds.
Verdict - On one hand Fantasy is better because it is more challenging due to the 21 players limit. There is a satisfaction of learning the craft and getting good at it.
Yet on the other hand Super Coach is better because the points each player score actually reflects how they went. You avoid many headaches and strong rugby league analysts are more likely to do well in this format even if they havn't played the game very long.
and because of how the scoring is done it feels a fair bit less predictable with week to week results. NRL Fantasy is a lot more consistent with the main scorers IMO and therefore everyone tends to gravitate to them more (both games have this to agree)SuperCoach has worked hard to get the formula right for scoring - back when I first started the top scoring position was second row.
