Social đźŹ‰ NZWarriors.com SuperCoach Comp 2025

@Mr. Brownstone - does our head to head league include the SOO major bye rounds or will you be switching that off.

NRL classic has changed their rules to allow for just 13 to be picked in minor bye rounds. What are our rules here?

Not that fussed just want to know?

I’ve kept the comp going from Rd 1 right thru to the end at this stage, it will just be top 13 scorers for each major bye round

Who do you guys rate more out of Luai $580K or Galvin $620K? The crowd is going for Luai but i am thinking of PODing with galvin

Neither for me personally.

The obvious reason for selecting Galvin last year was his price, he started and was the playmaker even is his rookie year, and as the season went on he proved his worth as a relevant SC player and IRL. Way too much downside this year IMO, Luai surely takes the reins thus pulling a lot of attacking stats off Galvin, and no doubt coaches will have had time to study him and will implement a better defence at him.

Luai, could come out and prove himself as a genuine playmaker, 2 years ago I would have scoffed at that, but last year he really let his playing do the talking not his smart ass attitude and mouth. I still have reservations as I feel that 16 other Panthers all singing to the same hymn book significantly aides Luai to show case his talent, the Tigers I think will prove tough for him. Also, apart from last year, Luai has never really been SC relevant and his price is way too high given the above.

It seems full backs are the way to go over the last few years, so Weekes with Dual FB/five eight is were I am heading and I firmly believe uncle Wayne will get the best out of the Souths and Cody Walker, both unlikely to play origin and bye coverage is good except for round 19, and Walker in particular looks like he is undervalued so they will be my selections at this very early stage!

It is all a gamble of course and trusting your gut sometimes is crucial, hoping this helps.

Hey that is really helpful. Thank you.

The other thoughts are that Luai will be 7 this year yet counts as a stand off so will get more ball touches and cranked out some big numbers last year at 7 while Cleary was out. Galvin is becoming a personal favourite and will be the Kangaroo stand off within three years. I will give this all some thought and value your post greatly. Cheers.

I am going with Luai - I have had a think. Luai is an unstructured player and I think will do better for the Tigers than the structured Panthers. Plus as mentioned Luai will be playing 7. If on Team List tuesday he is not listed 7 I will pick someone else.

You not going for Dylan Brown?

Cory Horsborough is causing a market place run on him of serious proportions. 40% of people have chosen him. I will not be one of them.

Hey everyone, on my count, & after excluding WA Warrior, I’ve sent the league code to 16 forum members but only 13 have entered the league. If the remaining 3 could do so then that would be great thanks, just ensures that no one misses out if others request to join. No need to complete a team at this stage, but good to sign up.

My question for those with any insight into it… does Duffy beat Clifford to the Cowboys 7 jumper & if so then are you keen on him as a rookie priced option vs the more expensive Dodd at the Rabbitohs… or are people chasing double guns at halfback?

I think Clifford is the 7. Haven't seen anything mentioned about Duffy taking that spot other than he has been promoted to a top 30 contract

For my super coach plus $59 I get access to code sport articles. Here is what they say:
"Jake Clifford is likely to continue as halfback after impressing in the back-end of 2024, however he has suffered a minor setback after having surgery that will sideline him for 2 weeks of the pre-season, during which time Tom Duffy and Purdue will press their claim for the No.7 jersey."
You will need to wait for team list tuesday. As I mentioned if you are really serious you will take the wednesday off work.

Like everyone else I am going Cleary at 7 - I think you are mad not to and based on the player ownership percentages absolutely everyone has dived in on the future immortal in year where he is 27 years old and at the peak of his career.

To afford Cleary some people will want a budget priced back up 7. I did not consider Duffy but did an extensive analysis on Sandon Smith vs Dodd. In the end I could not get on board with Dodd as he is a run first Halfback and I don't like players like that. He may be a gun and even rookie of the year but I assure you he won't even be in the top twenty for try assists. Sandon Smith is pretty vanilla and has not scored well when given a full 80 minute game - however he has something about him I like and he is the better distributor out of him and Dodd.
Those are my feelings.

Yes perhaps given all of that the best bet is to go two big names at half back?

I briefly jumped into the Cowboys forum & they are all over Duffy, he’s in nearly all Rd 1 lineup predictions I’ve seen. My preference is to go Dodd at this stage & if Duffy or Sanders makes their respective run on 13’s & it’s not due to injuries then I’ll consider them at that point. Sandon Smith a better hooker option.

Rightly or wrongly I have Mamazoulus as my back up hooker and wanted Sandon for his DPP.
