How can anyone keep watching this lot (especially after tonight) and not see that fundamentally the players are not good enough and no coach can correct that.

Capewell makes a break down the left flank, he is slow as, but doing his best, there is no one with him, this is not a one off scenario, this is a really good illustration of the truth that every back on that left edge is not good enough at one fundamental of football codes....support.

CNK was not there. He gets a small reprieve because a fullback cannot be everywhere all of the time, despite what people think.

None of our halves support, they do not get a pass, because Metcalf does it every time. The answer is CHT and Boyd are not good enough.

Our Left Winger who everyone praises for returns is a failure as an attacking player for not running after his slow Second rower.

Our Center is not there, that is another fail at NRL level.

Every back on that side of the field is not good enough.

Now go to the right edge and the issues are the same.

I did not want to get into putting our players down - but if it comes to this bullshit idea that somehow Andrew Webster is supposed to make good players out of our rubbish line up then I am gonna scream.

Webster did a brilliant job with Crap. And if people think throwing Sio Kali and Fatialofa in there they are kidding themselves, those blokes don't know how to tackle to an NRL standard yet.

To be fair that was the fastest ive ever seen Capwell run, he kinda left everyone for dust lmao

(Joking, but kinda not - impressive speed from the big lad during that burst)

Great points Sup.

CHT should not be our long term 6. He’s always been an average option in the halves. Hopefully Linnane tears up in cup next season and pushes CHT back to being a 14/utility. His best position IMO.

Went into meltdown after that second manly try was awarded. We played poorly but that was the ultimate kick in the guts from the week previous. Denan Kemp’s bloke in a bar podcast was used as an example last week of why that call was correct, but if anyone did actually watch the whole thing he does in fact believe that there is an unconscious bias towards us. The acceptance from the commentators I thought was interesting too in that try because I’ve heard either personality express their displeasure when they haven’t agreed with a call countless times, but here silence. I still cannot believe that the bunker and all those camera angles could call that a try?

The only thing I can think of is that the ref indicated to the bunker that he saw the ball grounded on the first attempt before he was rolled backwards

We won't even bother talking about CNK being clattered in the air & that being cleared by the bunker - that was a diabolical decision

There was an angle that showed it grounded on the first attempt.

I came here this morning to say something similar having just watched the Roosters South's game.
Every time anyone made a half break there was someone there to take a pass. If it was a line break there were support players queuing up for the ball. In one instance there were so many support players they got in each other's way.
If we make a break the player takes the tackle because there's no one there.

As for the quality of the players Webby has at his disposal?
I thought Matt Lodge outperformed our Fish and Niukore. That's a fringe signing for Manly being better than 2 marquee players for us.
Manlys new kid that came on late for his first game. Was it Walsh? Had more zip and a better halves game than ours.

I think Webby is up against the age old Warriors problem. Very few good players want to come here so he is left making the most of what he can. I think the fact that he has us in the top 8 is testament to his skill. A bit like Cleary when he was here.
But he's a couple of really good props and a half and a couple of top quality backs away from having a good team
The new kids are great but they can't be the answer just yet. They need careful looking after or we risk them becoming the next Ben Matulino or Eli Katoa. Heaps of talent but disillusioned. We have been calling for Leka to play centre. He gets there and immediately the opposition starts scoring down his side. And we're not good enough to get him one on one with his opposite number so he can do his thing. It's not good for a young player.

I'm seriously surprised by everyone saying Fish played poorly last night.

Were you watching him closely - the cover defence, the organisation of the middle third, the quick PTBs, the fact he played 66 minutes in the middle with no drop off?

Or are you still expecting him to be an AFB/Haas type one man wrecking crew?

If you really zone in on watching him it's clear how far above our other props he is.

He got steam rolled by a small as hooker. His initial contact is weak as fuck, he shows poor leadership decisions and he still cant out perform a converted backrower, Jackson Ford at his chosen position of prop.

Where?, i dont see one angle showing the ball contacting the ground at all......in fact on about the 3rd or 4th replay shows a clear view from the refs side (which he awarded the try from} clearly shows a hand under the ball then rolled over.

Also the fact he was still struggling to put the ball down after he was rolled over gives a fair indication even he felt he hadnt touched the grass

This is year three for AW It is most definitely Cuddle's team and selections. Saying he is doing well with crap players is a bit of a stretch, this is the team he has signed and resigned. There doesn't appear to be much adaptability.

And I don't think anyone is saying throw the ball out our ass every play either, but there is no doubt our attack has been clunky for the major of the season too. The Dolphins game was a nice change from that. Can we go back to that? Completions AND eyes up footy?
