That was my thought, EIT has that freakish motor trait that is hard to come by plus appears to have the rest to go with it. Once he fills out fully could be a gun middle.

I'll put my hand up and say I really wasn't too sure about EIT in FG, but these last few games he's looked fantastic and someone I can see having a very long career with us. It could deffo be Leka and Laban with EIT on the bench and to cover centre for the next 10+ years. Really, really exciting prospects

I was mentally disturbed watching that game
We were worse than last week
Lot of comments on Boyd
But can someone can pull up the statistics on how our forwards played
Erin Clark and Healy were good
What are the statistics for all our other forwards
The halves can only look bad if our forwards don’t perform
Truth is that every time we lose an experienced player the walls of the bus get thinner and the cracks widen.

Really missed Jackson Ford and Egan tonight.

The work load those boys get through quietly carries this game plan of ours for a good hour or so between them.

You cannot keep losing these grinders and expect us to look stable.

Webby has turned us into one hell of a boring team to watch …

Great when we were winning but now… what a snooze fest to watch
How can anyone keep watching this lot (especially after tonight) and not see that fundamentally the players are not good enough and no coach can correct that.

Capewell makes a break down the left flank, he is slow as, but doing his best, there is no one with him, this is not a one off scenario, this is a really good illustration of the truth that every back on that left edge is not good enough at one fundamental of football codes....support.

CNK was not there. He gets a small reprieve because a fullback cannot be everywhere all of the time, despite what people think.

None of our halves support, they do not get a pass, because Metcalf does it every time. The answer is CHT and Boyd are not good enough.

Our Left Winger who everyone praises for returns is a failure as an attacking player for not running after his slow Second rower.

Our Center is not there, that is another fail at NRL level.

Every back on that side of the field is not good enough.

Now go to the right edge and the issues are the same.

I did not want to get into putting our players down - but if it comes to this bullshit idea that somehow Andrew Webster is supposed to make good players out of our rubbish line up then I am gonna scream.

Webster did a brilliant job with Crap. And if people think throwing Sio Kali and Fatialofa in there they are kidding themselves, those blokes don't know how to tackle to an NRL standard yet.

So what are Cappy and Webby doing to change the backline?

No signings since taking over(that I can think of) and no signings next year to make any improvements...

Well they wanted Ali there as a genuine not slow attacking outside back. But a combo of injury and not pulling finger has hamstrung the planning dept.

Jae Linane, pace, vision, genuine attacking threat. When Metcalf is fit they will have pace both sides of the ruck.

Mellars, airial game.

Not a back but Gannon gives them a wide ranging back rower with a pass and pace for his size.

Looking at those two backline signings you can extrapolate the same old issue. People do not want to sign here from Aus.

Also gambling of ex Aus slack arse fast backs like you read on here is a complete waste of money and likely to end with us being screwed over by half arsed players.

It is not a simple fix.

Well I did say it’s Webby’s fault for not gradually building Berry’s fitness back into FG, he lasted 2 games this time before dislocating himself again by falling on the ground 1st set of D, we are watching a head on collision in slow motion 😂🤦😮‍💨

There was Egan limping with a dud hip and Leka’s still error prone from fatigue now

Who knows maybe the whole left edge were fatigued that they mentally switch off or didnt have the strength or will to chase Cape, CHT only missed 1 game with a calf (is that calf ok? He’s playing crap lately) Pompey is slow and Roger don’t know where he was

I saw some pundits blaming all black players for their poor form all year while I was thinking Razor deserve the pressure he’s under….bucks stop with him lol, players didnt pick themselves. What did Webby do when forwards take 2 runs a game? Play them some more! 😂

Ok you homos, I’m happy to give Webby his flowers.

He has far exceeded my expectations for this team. Made several key improvements as I requested: fixed the bench, gave more playing time to the rookies, and provided Taine an opportunity at fullback.

He has consistently led us to victories and kept us in the top four for most of the season—a bloody remarkable achievement given the roster.

Every player has punched above their weight, they’ve been consistent in their effort week in and week out. You can't ask for anything more

undoubtedly Webs has raised the bar at this club. two finals in three years is a remarkable achievement considering our history.

However, I just hope Webby is not resting on his laurels. It's crucial he learns from this season's mistakes.

The grinding game plan works well during the long season, but adjustments are needed as we approach the finals. I’ve said it to him many times as a couch critic - finals footy is a different beast to tame
.
Look at the Broncos and Roosters—they are built for finals with their youth, speed, arrogance, and confidence. In contrast, we looked old slow and predictable.

The future is bright. For sure…. but we need to get better… we need to reintroduce JUNGLE BALL✌️

Thought the period of play straight after halftime summed up where we've been going wrong the last 6 weeks or so really.

We play out our 6 from the kick off, kick deep in their territory on the last. Start our grinding defence but give up that early penalty with the Sam Healy tackle.....they get an easy out of their end......then we compound that with some diabolical defence where Dimitri and Clark fall for Hunts dummy, and he waltzes round Charnze like he's wearing concrete boots (2nd week in a row he's been burned like that)

We just havent been able to amount or sustain pressure on the opposition.

For a team with limited strike who clearly relies on playing territory and ginding teams into errors giving us oppertunities......none of that is worth shit if we cant sustain pressure by giving away penalties or making errors which just kill any momentum for us before its started.....and this has been the story for us since probably that first Titans game really.

And if we arent hitting those KPI's we dont have the ability to play "footy" that other teams possess to get ourselves out of trouble.

Some are calling for mass changes to play an attack based game but tbh i just dont see it in the roster we have. Sure a couple of changes might make small incremental improvements in this regard but as much as fans want us to be able strike like a Bronco's or Dolphins or Roosters it aint gonna happen unless we recruit it, or we have some hidden gems in our development (particulary backs) who come out of nowhere......and im not seeing either of that in the works.

As much as its looks likely we've gone as far as we can Webby's playing/has played probably the only cards he could....while many want us to throw caution to the wind and throw the ball out of our arses for this last game......our best hope is probably doubling down and playing the most perfect "boring" "grinding" game we can.
