Pick Your Team Manly v Warriors - [Round 27, 2025]

If I could tell the future, I wouldn't be talking to you lot on a forum mate.

All I'm saying is Websters style has proven to win more than it loses, I don't see any point in changing it too heavily. It's not like it has been totally stagnant all season either, it has evolved with early in the tackle count spreads, different shape that has come off in the past month. I understand its hard to look past a result though
It hasn’t evolved at all since the sharks game. Everyone else has evolved and we’re getting left behind. I don’t care if we make the 8 only to get knocked out the first week.
If Webby made some bold calls and we fall out playing an exciting brand of footy I could deal with that.
But for the past 2 and a half months we’ve been the most underwhelming team in the comp.

If my math is correct. We can’t go below 6th.
If Sharks and Broncos win their games. I’d do a Penrith and rest 4-5 players. (Maybe more)
If the Raiders beat the Tigers, and Melbourne lost. I dare say Ricky will do the same.
Bulldogs can’t go anywhere either. They’ll rest a bunch of players.
Same a Melbourne probably.

The only teams that probably won’t are Brisbane and Cronulla.

I’d rest, JFH, Egan, Clark, RTS maybe CHT and Halasima.

Probably the right call. It dosen't matter if we play Penrith week 1 or the Roosters. Still feel like we get spanked either way

Yeah i'd consider resting a few tbh. Manly going to throw the kitchen sink at us regardless.

Rather risk having a healthy team the following week than a team with stop gap players or losing key positions.

Time to pull the trigger Webby or continue to surrender meekly playing a boring brand of football that is struggling to beat anyone half decent and won't be good enough come finals time.

Our attack is boring and predictable. We have our best ball playing 7 on the bench as a utility and our most creative 9/14 left right out completely. Two changes. That's all it takes. Yup, I can already hear the kicking game argument being typed out but with the territory we make currently we very rarely need a long kick anyway. And with the possession and territory we had against the Eels I can't help but feel TMM and Healey create more in attack than what we showed.

So Cuddle's, Mr Conservative, Vanilla is my favorite flavour, it's time. It's now or never IMO. But I'm afraid you will stick with the conservative, vanilla spine we have now and a boring as fuck game plan, style of play and end results. And a waste of a huge opportunity.

Egan 9, TMM 7, CHT 6 and Healey 14. At least there is some creativity there which we are in dire need of.
Just rest Egan, move TMM to 9, and Healey to 14. Boyd is getting better at 7 and you know my opinion on TMM in the halves.

I got flamed for suggesting TMM would make a good 9 but I still stand by that. We look a lot faster with him there and Boyd looks a lot better

Maybe, but with a wealth of possession and territory we struggled to create points. We seem to be reliant on scoring from bombs or having a try spoon feed to us. There is no doubt in my mind we lack creativity and we have two players (actually three but Cuddle's ain't dropping CNK) that can provide that.

This has been evident with our attack for the majority of the year. This isn't a new thing. It's just that we managed to squeak a number of wins earlier that masked over it for nany. But we are at the pointy end of the season and it's not going to be good enough. It's already shown it's not good enough. Id rather play our best hand trying to win the next handful of games in a row.
There is limitations in the squad so Webby has a plan in mind that plays to the strengths. Boyd and CHT are developing there partnership. Injuries havent helped at key times when the side had momentum.

CNK is the best FB at the club. RTS and DWZ are the best wingers and the best centre pairing is Berry and Pompey.

We all know Metcalfe injury was a blow as was Barnett. Couple with other injuries and suspensions the young squad has done well.

You only need to win a game by 1 point......the team has resilience which is something Webby has unlocked.

We’re a good squad and Websters plan is right. Literally the only thing we’re missing is a gun 7 to convert our forward dominance into points.

Moses showed how much of a difference a gun 7 can make to a team. We’re a top 8 quality 7 away from being a real contender and blowing teams away.

I don’t think we have that player in our squad, I don’t think Metcalf is the answer yet either. But he’s probably the best we have.

Watching RTS make that break with no support is something we’ve been guilty of for such a longtime now. All through the year when when Metcalf was healthy, he scored so many tries simply from supporting. I still feel like Fullback could be great for him and he simply follows the ball carrier. Lethal against broken defensive lines too

We have to change something before finals. I don’t think we’re gonna come out of this rut with the same game plan and same team

I can’t see Webster making real changes to the starting line up or the game plan.
When TMM came on the attack flowed a lot better. I still think that he should be our 6 with Boyd at 7 .
CHT to 14 , although Healey does have real advantages as an impact player.

Who else could you bring in ?
TT?
Healey?
TMM to start?
Ford will come back

I thought Leka was used well off the bench last night .

He won’t go near Bunty or Ale .

Agreed except for me l would have Healey at 9 and TMM at 14. Not the best time to be messing with our halves combination but the obvious disappointment from my perspective is our lack of speed in the squad 🤔
Swapping guys around ain't gonna resolve the problem

With our lack of pace we are limited to our game plans. Not the best time to be changing to a different plan.
We are better off sticking to the grinding style and not having a lapse in concentration like last night.
Off season I would like to see us recruit a couple of speedsters or at least get a specialist sprint coach

If Sharks and Broncos win their games. I'd do a Penrith and rest the whole squad. As next week Melbourne and Bulldogs most likely rest theirs. Broncos and Sharks wont if they're competing for 4th.
