Can't wait to see their reaction when we beat them in rd 22. Hope we are coming in 1st vs 2nd when that clash happens:

They got kissed on the Shawn Johnson in both games last year, it was absolute malarkey.

I can't stand them or their fans and want nothing more than the boys to bash them on their home track in Round 23.

As it should be

Never understood why the fans should have the team song. And even worse it began to be sung before the win was confirmed.

Webster was asked during the week on Aus radio about the difference between 2023 and this year. Said they lost their head a bit in 2023, that everyone wanted a piece of them (which I take to include the commercialisation of the team song).

We are fans and members of the Warriors club. We're not members of the first grade team and some things deserve to be kept with them.
I get it. But I’m also for forging our own path and not adhering to traditions.

This club has always been for the people, and is an inclusive whānau club - we as fans are part of that.

So in that sense I don’t mind then opening up the team song for fans to embrace a win. I’m sure the boys get pumped hearing a sold out Mt Smart chant it post win as well.

This team has swagger. They're good and they know it and every week they're getting more and more comfortable with the pressure.

We are witnessing a total culture rebuild within the club, probably the biggest in the clubs history and I'm starting to believe that this could be a long term thing.

I didnt think about it much at the time, but I remember a comment from 2023 Webby stating that he didn't believe in rebuild years.

This team is 'no excuses' and all accountability. You play the best you can, because the jersey demands it. Nothing less.

Yep.

I posted the same thing in the NSW cup thread a lot.

One of the features of watching the cup has been seeing Leka, Laban, and Dimitric score off kicks in the air.

We have been crying out for an aerial game vs opposition Wingers, we have one now.

I ranted on about what you picked up on - these are 1% traits, and out of the three I actually think Laban shows the highest affinity for the the attentive side of ball work.....having said that...I am splitting hairs because all three have the same mentality.

We know they are athletic and people get excited about that, but the footballing brains is what I am interested in most out of these guys and Dimtric is emerging as a footballer over an athelete.

Hand eye coordination of those three is on a par with outside backs, they play at aerial ball like Wingers.

Laban is the one that will really surprise in the air, he is very light on his feet for his height and frame. If you see Laban with his shirt off, he is an unusually low body fat for an athlete of his size. He is less Messomorph than the usual body type we produce - he is built like a bastketballer....made for scoring off kicks over the top of people....Leka just goes straight through you like you're not even there.
I remember watching Leka live against the Eels in NSW Cup, in 23’ he was snagging tries off short bombs like it was a training drill. He and Laban are basically our versions of Eli Katoa and Jeremiah Nanai!

And somehow, we’ve finally found a use for what I once considered the most pointless last-tackle play in the NRL: CHT’s undercooked popcorn bomb 💣

In fairness most the Dogs fans gave us props as a decent football team. I’m still waiting to put the Raiders inbred fans in check!!!

I love Hecticfred he is a great guy, and has always given us plenty of airtime in his love for Bunty and the Wahs!
