Team List Sharks v Warriors - [Round 14, 2025]

Same thing with DWZ on the weekend too
None of Johnstone's 3 tries on the weekend were from Dal being out of position or making bad reads that he was slammed for in the game day forum.

1st try - intercept. Bit telegraphed from Metcalf and a long ball close to the line like that can be an all or nothing play for a defending winger with the balls to hedge his bets....and Johnstone is a class winger who picks those things up better than most

2nd try - as pointed out by SJ, Leka a bit slow coming off the line causing Luke and Rocco to bite in leaving Dal in a 2 on 1, Tries getting himself between the 2 of them but on a hiding to nothing.

3rd try - Rocco and Luke decide to not contest a bomb and the guys inside them dont work hard enough to get back, at the time of the Rabbito's player catching the bomb there's 5 of them around the ball and only 3 of us. A 6th player takes an inside pass at pace and our line is scattered and non existent, once again Dal has to creep in and facing multiple numbers, easy run in for them,

I dont deny the bad reads Dal (or any winger) can make and will point out when they've let in tries, just wasnt the case against the Rabbits tho, people want to slam someone look further infield.

Haha I agree, I was defending Dallin earlier on, was just saying that we cant say that about Taine, if we're not saying it about DWZ too.

Also, the 3rd try you're a bit hard on poor Rocco when he had been off the field for the last few minutes 🤪

He's mentoring Ali hopefully, whom else has that experience to do that in Our squad? Kurts attack/backing and defence has been on point at #3. Maybe he's coaching an injured Berry in advise as well "Fix that hammy of yours ya soft cu^t!" :ROFLMAO:

Anyhow I get ya, Gtor, Capewell's just a filler (and a bloody good one at that.)

It was so weird not knowing Berry was off then watching Cape leading the kick chase, it’s like “Berry no how did you suddenly age 10 years!” 😱

Yeah probably more a slight on the insides not working hard enough to get back than Rocco. As mentioned Rabbito's had 5-6 players who followed that bomb up to put themselves in the frame if an oppertunity came along, we had 3, Rocco, Luke, and Dal. Then letting them catch it gave them the oppertunity and they had the numbers their to make the most of it, We've been excellent all year but i think in that instance they beat us in an effort area.

One way to (potentially) nullify AFB is run everything at him. Fish, Clark, Niukore and Ford just keeping running at wherever he is, and then the same with Egan sniping / Charnze working for quick play the balls on him. Keep him working / moving around on D. They're already weakened in the middle with a few outs, and BHU won't have the motor to pick up the slack.
Let's test AFB's effort areas (Matt & Cronk raised a question mark a few weeks back - lazy kick chase on first set of the game I think it was )and see if he still has the gas to run through us.
Let's go, as AFB said, through the front door.

this was basically the dogs game plan back in round 4 when they belted them at shark park. Isolate AFB on D and gas him out so he has nothing on attack. AFB is the head of the snake that is the shark's pack. Cut off that head and the rest of the snake will follow. Winning the battle in the middle is also psychological: JFH and Erin have to do what they did to the Phins pack and get inside AFB's head. I don't mind giving away the odd high tackle penalty throughout the game if the signal is sent that we're going to come after them physically all night.

These are all correct, my issue with Dal is he never seems to commit. Sure he's beaten due to numbering, but his solution is always to try to get in between defenders and gets stuck in no mans land. Kosi at least smashes the snot out of the ball carrier.

All our wingers have issues, as people has said TT has given up on chases, and we know about Kosi's struggles.

AFB has a massive motor and is a good defender. Can we really tire him out by running at him (and also make yardage)
Like Latrell, we won't be able to eliminate his impact. But we can certainly limit it by increasing his defensive work rate. Getting him to only run for 150m (Roosters game where Sharks got smashed) instead of the 250+m he ran for in the Melbourne game goes a long way.

The otherside seems more secure defensively maybe they don't target Rts as much, but no matter how much they sugar coat it dallin does get caught much more than he needs to.

I bagged our man too.
It was the most prominent display ive seen of others bagging our man.
When you hear them processes it makes sense.

AFB was interviewed on Aus tv 9
He looked pretty relaxed about it
I bet he enjoys the aggravation coming his way
As a player he is awesome
Yep typical Alpha.

I could go off on a tangent and tell stories about using Alpha dog theory against Alpha males, but I won't bore folk, just to say the Cur dog barks and growls, the Pitbull whines like a yearning and stares at the Curs throat.

The way to unsettle people like AFB is to use reverse psychology, pump up his tires, play subservient, then hit him violently efficiently and often, while saying nothing, doing nothing that shows you care a less.

A psycho I used to play with would hit the biggest guy like a missile, pat him on the shoulder and say 'good run bro, hardout'.

Teams don't waste their breath trying to intimidate JFH either for the same reason.
