Team List Sharks v Warriors - [Round 14, 2025]

There is one man who holds the key to mitigating the loss of Barney in my opinion and that is Fish.

Obviously what he brings off the field is of tremendous value, especially for the young guys coming through. In saying that his on field performances this season haven't been mind-blowing.

A middle rotation of: Ford, Demi, Clark, Marata, Bunty, TSS, Ale and Laban, however you shuffle their roles, has enough quality NRL minutes in them to succeed. But only with someone really leading the way. Hopefully without Barney there Fish makes this forward pack his own.

The sharks pack has the ability to blow teams away through the middle and Brailey is near unstoppable on the front foot, so a real trial by fire this weekend.

Few better feelings throughout the season than beating the sharks in their own backyard. Would be the biggest result of the season if the boys can get up!

Understand Capes being centre
However that’s not fixing the probs for a fulltime attacking centre
That we need
🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️
Yeah, I think Pompey has done great in attack lately but he has always been our defensive centre for me. He is not Critter but he is pretty good at shutting his side down. I would prefer a powerful Ali but I have to acknowledge Capewell has been very very good and his contributions at centre this year have been almost game changing. I love Ali, but I can't fault Webby for having Capewell at centre.

All wingers in our system jam. Whether it is DWZ or TT or Montoya when he was here. As SJ said on his podcast, we need to stop blaming the wingers for tries conceded on the edge which largely emanate from defensive lapses that happen closer infield. For all the flack he cops, I thought DWZ had a solid game last week. He was very secure under the high ball and demonstrated again his effectiveness as an aerial threat which is going to be very valuable this week against the sharks who have been heavily exposed in the air the last two games.

As for worrying about AFB's impact, it's like Latrell. They are both amazing players who are always going to impact the game no matter how good the defense is when they are on. It's about limiting their impact. If we limit him to 150m this game as opposed to his customary 200m+, we'll go a long way to winning the middle. The other forwards that are lining up for them are far less imposing and run for less than 100m more games than not. They also don't have Rudolf or Hazleton in this game and they are running an outside back on the bench (Atkinson) who barely plays 5 minutes per game. So whilst we will miss Barney, Sharks are also depleted in the middle. If we can hold our own against Canberra without both JFH and Barney, no reason why we can't win the middle against Cronulla with JFH.

He's mentoring Ali hopefully, whom else has that experience to do that in Our squad? Kurts attack/backing and defence has been on point at #3. Maybe he's coaching an injured Berry in advise as well "Fix that hammy of yours ya soft cu^t!" :ROFLMAO:

Anyhow I get ya, Gtor, Capewell's just a filler (and a bloody good one at that.)
