If we are a genuine threat this year, we put these guys to the sword today despite our outs.

Going to 7-2 and seeing the Broncos and Knights losing gives us a three win buffer in the top 4. That’s pretty amazing. Dogs v Raiders. cows v panthers and eagles v sharks all benefit us, esp if raiders panthers and eagles win!

Last year is a memory I want wiped. I never want to see us start so well and then get destroyed up front. This years time I think is a different beast and should pile the pressure on the dragons who have demonstrated weakness when the pressure comes in thick.

That said, I see starting line up changes. TMM will start at fullback - no point having him on the pine twiddling his thumbs. We need our forwards to beat their us so we need power.CNK into centre to shore up the right hand side defence and Pompey back to the left to support TT.

Marata back to Prop with Ford to bench and Capewell back to right Edge.

It’s about time we gave the Flanagan Supplement Corporation a flogging and buried them at home. These guys are grubby. I’m hopeful for a game like the Kinghts - we start well and don’t give them a sniff, never looking like losing.

Wahs to win by 13+, limiting the dragons to under 12 points. My prediction? 32-10 Wahs.

Game 2 on our extended roadtrip. Let’s eat.
None of those lineup changes are going to happen. Webster values consistency in selection. He's shuffling as few players around as he can. I think it's clear why TMM is there: Normally we carry no backs cover on the bench because we know we can shuffle Capewell into centres and a forward into Capewell's spot. Because Capewell is STARTING as a back, we have no back cover unless we want to shuffle Leka into the centres, which Webster doesn't want to do, clearly (and correctly I think). I'm fairly sure he wants Leka — who is learning his game and position still — to remain on the edge week in week out. TMM might get a wee run to relieve CHT if CHT gives Egan a break at hooker. But apart from that TMM will pretty much be bench warming. Webster is not moving CNK out of FB unless he absolutely has to. CNK is doing just want Webster wants in that position: defence and early-set carries, and sometimes playing a part in some attacking shape in the opposition 10. TMM simply isn't part of Webster's plans except as cover.

We are close to terminal failure of our defensive game. You see it when we lose one player now, there is so much experience out that (especially the edges) it falls apart with the makeshift patch up jobs mid game.

That is ok, it is a fact of life, we cannot keep dreaming of running on the smell of an oily rag and expect us to play like the Storm today.

Usually the opposition scores early then we find our lock down function and the strangle goes on. That is harder to do with guys playing in different spots...what I'm talking about is cohesion, which is a function of communication and familiarity.

The Dragons like to throw it around against us, they know that pattern of attack has sunk us more times than we care to remember - if we have the defensive hustle on, we can make them turn over ball.

As for our attack, who knows what we will see today, we only got forty minutes last week.

All I care about is winning. The rest doesn't interest me, as the weeks drag on....as we seemingly float on this bubble in the top four, threatening to burst eventually.....lets just win week by week.

Excuse the negatives, to my mind they are not negatives, they are just how it is. I am on a high....don't get me wrong....

I think our main goal within games for the season as to not get into any more 0-36 positions. Then, try and stop teams going back-to-back-to-back with points. Yes, it was good we gave some kind of fightback after being 0-36 (but you have to wonder how much cue-racking was being done by the Storm) and that we held on to win by 4 last weekend. But we really don't want to put ourselves in those positions in the first place. Avoid those two things, your chances of winning improve.

Those things do show that we won't see a 0-30 1st Half and 6-36 2nd Half again, like we did last year against the Titans in Gold Coast, so I'm cautiously optomistic about our Top 4 chances for 2024. I'm increasingly loudly optimistic about our Top 8 chances. In fact, as of now I'd want someone's head on a stick if we can't make it from here!

Warriors by 14. LM, LH, CHT, DWZ, JF, WE tries.

I think DWZ is marking Sloane. I would generate all the traffic on that side of the field because that edge has been leaking most of the tries for the dragons this year. It is also the side of the field where CHT has the most try assists. I know he tore us to shreds last year from FB, but Sloan has got to be the worst defensive winger in the comp- he had a couple of arm grabs on the try line that cost them tries last week. We should be able to have as much joy down that edge as the Dragon hope to do down the Capewell/TT edge.

The only credential the Dragons have tonight is a 14-4 record against us when on home soil. I think it'll be close tonight. Metcalf support lines to pick up a try or 2 will be the difference. Let's eat!

I think DWZ lining up on the right where he normally plays isn't he? If so he will be up against Holmes and Allen

Will forgive a loss after the generally amazing start to the year, as long as we put in the effort like we have been (aside from the 2 losses!)

Still got my amazing not-watching-live-for-the-win streak to uphold (pre-Mothers Day dinner with mum and sisters fam this time), so feeling good as long as I avoid spoilers before the replay 😉

Up Da Freakin' Wahs!!!! 🤙🤙🤙

I think so. Not sure how our outside back jersey numbers translate though to game time side of the field.
shows how much nrl media pays attention to these things. Many people tipping Dragons this week has been mentioning that it's capes vs Holmes as a reason for doing so. If it is capes vs suli and Pompey vs Holmes, I think that is ok. Pomps cut Staggs in half several times a few weeks ago, so I trust him with the Holmes assignment.
