Manu although I don’t like what he became in later life basically was our default try scoring option. He had plenty of flaws but he generally scored more than he let in and was a big loss if he was missing. Have to give him credit for coming back from that infamous night in Parramatta- I honestly thought he’d never play again after that.
Next one was a tough choice between Meli and Hoppe but went for Meli for the height of his form.
Fa’afili is an interesting omission, I’d have him in the next tier, Fusitua and DWZ had standout season(s) but the bad ones almost cancel them out.

Dwz 85 games, 59 tries = 0.69
Manu 226 games, 152 tries 0.67
Fusitua 108 games, 61 tries =0.55
Meli 110 games, 60 tries = 0.54
Hoppe 88 games, 44 tries = 0.5
Maumalo 106 games, 44 tries = 0.41
Actually impressed by DWZ. Really elevated him in my eyes. I had him making way for AKP but not so sure anymore..
AKP for context 54 games, 53 tries = 0.98 WOW!

Meli - fair for his size
Hoppe - excellent 10/10 - why I picked him!
Maumalo - made Jono Wright look like a legend!

10 tries or more for 10 seasons straight will probably end up in an NRL Trivial Pursuit game if it ever happens.

Was heading into my nightshift when that Parra game was on Radio Talksport.
The Aussie commentary were laughing at how bad Manu was.
He kept on going, and became the beast.
Hoppe had a huge workrate.
His brand of wing play is rear for a Warrior in this era.
RTS in a way is reminiscent of Hoppe's game with his activity.
Though RTS has a much bigger attacking arsenal.
Hoppe would not be out of place if the best version of him was to run out in 2026.

Hes a pretty good meter eater too and none of them were terribly good on defence (probably why they played on the wing) so
.The more I think about it the more I’m leaning towards fusitua actually- he was probably the most complete player.
Damn this is hard- in the forwards it’s like who do u leave out- in the backs it’s who do u put in.

Only one winger in that lot, Hoppe. The rest are just battering rams. Meli gets my other vote because of the hurt he could put on.
With Meli he had a big advantage over the other wingers mentioned , he had Clinton Toopi inside him as center.
Is Ken Maumalo still playing for the titans feeders or something?

Yes however the wingers with easily the biggest advantage were those playing outside Johnson. The difference between Fusitua’s try stats in 2018 outside SJ vs 2019 when he’d switched edges is pretty stark.
Pretty sure they let him go at the end of the season
