"Your Wallet. Our Legends."

I have always "loved" the Roosters. What a classy outfit and they are always so fantastic at keeping under the salary cap with no TPA's offered to their players. The players love the Roosters so much they would play there for the love of the club. That is why the rest of the comp "loves" the Roosters and most fans would have them as their second favourite team.

Unfortunately all of my Roosters gear is in the wash so I can't wear it right now. But here is a very good video on Mini's career. What a superstar. If you have Mini in your team you have pretty much won already (do I even need to finish the game). What a player!!! There are probably some people on here that may not have seen Mini in his prime but in my opinion he is the 2nd best full back in the modern era behind Slater. Walsh may overtake him at some point but not yet.

Special mention to 2:55 in the video when Mini ran out for his 300th game. You would have thought with all the money the Roosters are saving on their players they could have made a banner that would break when Mini runs through it but they learned from that.

The NSW Blues were unstoppable with Mini in his prime. Maybe we can match him up with some other Roosters players Mr Hodges!

He can nullify your second bid, and you will not be able to bid again on that player. Sorry i should have made this clearer.

If he nullifies a first bid, obviously the opponent can stiΔΊl bid again with his second shot.

Theres a few ways he can use this, and for strategy purpose i wont delve any deeper on potential usage. If any clarifications required on detailed scenarios i can assist and clarify
i understand - given there is only two bids allowed per player then this is a nice little concept.

ok wow this is quite the challenge. I do have a story about BBQing now that I have seen the hilarious video clip. This story comes from my ex brother'n law and is about a friend of his in High School we will call Fred.

In the 1970s and 1980s there used to be a great show we all used to watch on Saturday night at 6pm called Ready to Roll. Ready to Roll showed the top 20 hits each week and you could see what was moving up and down the charts.

They would play a few random songs out of the top 20, especially new ones. However they would always finish the show by playing the number one hit.
Fred was 16 years old and came up with a hair brained idea, that only a 16 year old would, that he would get naked and unzip the bean bag and climb into it and rezip it back it up so that only his head was sticking out and BBQ while the number one song was on and he set himself a goal of finishing before the end of the song. Hope that explanation makes sense.
Now the problem was that the number one song each week if it was continuously in the charts got edited slightly shorter each week just by a few seconds, but this reduction in time was pertinent to whether he was up for the challenge of finishing BBQing each week before the song ended.
He got pretty good at it and was on a winning streak of 8 weeks and quite chuffed with his game.
It all came unglued when his Mum and Sister came home from shopping and found him in the bean bag with his head poked out one evening just as ready to roll had ended and just as he had finished his goal. His mother said "What the fuck you are doing in the fucking bean bag. Get out of that bean bag right now Fred."
Fred said he couldn't. And the reason he couldn't was that he was naked inside the bean bag and couldn't stand there naked in front of his Mum and Sister.
But his Mum was insistent and furious. So he had no choice. He unzipped the bean bag and reluctantly climbed out and stood there naked in front of his mother and bemused Sister. But the story doesn't end there. His BBQing was given away as he had just finished his business and the white polystyrene beads were all stuck to nether regions giving away his crime.
He was sent to his room.

Power Granted. You may nominate any opponent during this round at anytime before results are locked on who you are freezing out from bidding on stated player.

Even if they already placed a bid on player X and that bid becomes null and void?

The 2 bids kills anyone bidding until the 5.30 deal line as the cost of being trumped is prohibitive πŸ₯±
It has had peverse implementation I wasn't expecting. It was supposed to be relaxed bidding throughout the day. This will be the last time we do two bids. That said it is different and I think it is more nuanced and tactical than how you have summarised it. We are all still learning it and no one has mastered it yet. But yes I have noted I am the only morning bidder today. Everyone is waiting until after 5pm. I did consider making a rule your first bid on a player had to be in before 5pm but I thought that was too legalistic. Let this game play out. Even we had unlimited bidding there were last minute bidding wars happening after 5pm that continued frantically until the end. Silent Auctions are a different approach but don't create any traffic in the thread so I don't favour them.
Next year we need to, or I need to think of a mechanism so that bidding throughout the day is incentivised rather than last minute gesumpting bidding. Any ideas welcome.

From a strategical perspective, im not sure if many people are utilising their first bid as a dummy bid. Fairly important to look at your opponents teams to see who they could be targetting. Building your best team is one part of the equation. Stopping a rival from building a better team than you is another.

I like the 2 bids. I dislike the fixed cut off. I’m still at work or finishing up then and like yesterday, I can’t always be on which means I can’t compete for elite talent. Same issue last year!

So I go so high no one can outbid me or pick off players no one wants - a real winning formula 🀣

Maybe in future something like if no one outbids your bid after something like 4 hours you win them? This makes the game live all through the day but without immense time pressure?

Ps on the flip side, work in December has been 30% up on last year December and still two days to go - preying the rain goes away!

What about if it was just one bid. Name your best price. if someone wants to wait until 5.28pm to beat you by 10K it doesn't matter so long as they beat you.

Jeepers, so in this round one player has the power to nullify a bid, and another player has the right to stop someone from bidding on a specific player.

Might be a good round to sit out haha.

Sure but remember the rule you have to make one bid, even a token bid, each round.
