For everyone saying their pack is miles better, I would disagree.

JFH >> Paseka
Egan > Jazz
Barney > Aloai
Capewell <<< Hamole
Niukore = Burbo
Clark < Jurbo

Could probably make an argument that Niukore is better than Burbo - you'd certainly hope so considering he's on probably 4x the money - but he's such a lazy prick that I'm not going to make it.
Havn't had a chance to have a geez, but have capewell and Olakau'atu ever faced off in origin? Hopefully facing off against him will bring out a more origin style Capewell.

You could have said the same against the Canberra pack and look what happened…

With us having to play Walker off the bench it really limits the Healy / Egan possibilities
thinking of how QLD use Hunt to start at 9 then swap to Grant might be predicated on the fact that Hunt can stay on the field in the halves and Grant subs a prop who then becomes part of a smaller rotation of subs. Or something like that. Don't know how we could make two 9s work in our situation

First off, it pisses me off seeing Jazz play hooker for Manly, cause that tells me that we completely wasted a bench spot for nothing last year. (He played fairly well last week too)

I don’t like our chances at all tonight tbh.
But what I want is a CLEAR improvement on last week.

Happy to give CHT and Metcalf at least the first 4 rounds to get things going.

Forwards need to muscle up, I fear Manly just going straight through the middle.
Let’s see that legendary “line speed” I hear so much of. (If Ford isn’t starting AND playing 80, I don’t get why he’s in the team)

Understandable to be pissed as i think he would of been prefect to cover hooker and middle for us instead of lussick. But Jazz put his foot down and said he is not playing hooker for us anymore. Looks like once his job was on the line going to manly he changed tune.

Unlike some on this forum, my memory and judgement of a player extends past the previous fortnight.

Did our pack get beaten by Canberra? Yes. But you can't effectively judge anything using a single metric from a single performance.

All of our forwards made more tackles than the Eagles ones did - does that mean they were a better defensive unit? Of course not.

Manly are one of those clubs that sees us as their patsies.

They usually give us a hiding by beating up our forwards and then playing second phase to tire our defenders.

We really struggle to contain their second phase game when they play us and I see tonight as being no different.

Even when we beat them it is a close game and they are not scared of us.

Realist says we probably get flogged this time, not being negative at all, I am not in any way saying that I have no hope for a competitive game.

Gonna try enjoy it all the same, probably be looking for silver linings out of individual performances rather than some miracle turn around.

We often start well at home. Similar to other clubs playing at their home ground.

Guys run hard with the crowd behind them. Bend the line allowing to play more direct, dummy half runs. Hopefully that gives them enough confidence to stay in the contest.

Then it will be how well we defend and if we can find a way to get points.

Hopefully an improvement on round 1 and a consistent performance. Too many games at home we've got off to a good start and lost momentum.
