Wild we were bettered by a bottom team on the day at home 😂 The ship is leaking and the skipper needs to do something….or not

Maybe we can beat the dragons? 13:11 and play Penrith away round 1 😂

Just watched the highlights again and I dunno, I feel that DWZ has been crucified a fair bit more than he deserves.

The first try down their end is a super poor miss by Capewell, with DWZ stranded in no man's land.
The 2nd, DWZ slips over but at that point Capewell has gone well in and it was a 2 on one overlap anyways.
The 3rd incident when he gets banned, I thought Dallin was a bit unlucky. The grubber kick meant that the centres body was blocking the ball from DWZs eye line, so impossible for him to judge the tackle, which is how he was sinbinned. Again, Capewell pushed in so DWZ had to follow and hit the centre.

Dallin's never been the best defensively and perhaps a more sound defender would have snuffed those chances out, but Capewell has the biggest questions to answer for that right side imo.

So watching the presser, DWZ will keep his spot. It’s just webbys approach, he puts full faith in his players & backs them 100%, and to be fair to him, he’s been one of our most successful coaches for this reason.

I’m not a fan of DWZ form atm just like others. To play devils advocate though, Dallin has had about 6 different centre options this year, which hasn’t allowed for connections to form. It’s very obvious our D policy is to jam, which technically is the high percentage play, forcing the opposition into a trickier long ball if they want to the points. The space that Dallin finds himself in is actually not his fault, it’s caused by his inside defenders being beaten, leaving Dallin in a 2v1 situation. For what it’s worth, I’d rather have taine there but just trying to justify some of the defensive decisions being made out there. The reality too is most players are right handed, therefore the right to left pass is their strongest side hence most of the points coming down our right side.

Webby also mentioned he’s been desperate to move capes back to edge, but due to a long list of outside backs (and lack of depth), he’s been forced to play there. As a result, it means that TMM is required on the bench to cover any backline injuries, as our normal backline cover (capes), is already playing there.

This is the group we have & we have to back them. Losing our 2 best players has no doubt hampered our premiership hopes, and I honestly think we’re lucky to be still in the top 4. I also think we have probably overachieved this year & losing these two has probably put a line through us. Take yeo & Cleary, tapine/fogarty, Hughes/grant out of their line ups & id expect the same drop off, it’s just bad luck.

Next week Healey will be in for Egan, TMM bench. DWZ will be playing & with Ali going down in cup, capes will be at centre. I personally think taine should be there, either on the wing or at fb with cnk at centre, pomps wing but I can’t see it happening. I think Webby needs to have the nuts to make a tough call but, it goes against his entire coaching philosophy so I can’t see it happening.
Then let's roll with Webby's approach. Keeping faith in the players for an absurd amount of time. Let him do it. I bet you it works in some unexpected cases and fails in others. It is a big call to demote Dallin to NSW cup because he is not coming back up ever.
We have a thread called recruitment and retention. Webby is trying to retain our star players. Let Webby do it his way. Some will be mistakes others successes. Let's sit back and watch if Dallin repays the faith in him. Same thing with Ford as much as I would prefer him to be dropped or relegated to the bench.

I don't disagree. But Capes is a SOO level backrower helping out in the Centre. He's done amazingly at times, but he seems to be carryin g niggles and his 'not quite there' pace is half a yard slower again. Face it, warts and all - the issue was note Capes, it was the position Capes was in. The last two weeks teams, even weak teams have us worked out: DWZ jams in, the centre sweeps behind. But Capes isn't fast enough to do it consistently.

If there is no 'next man up' centre the coach is happy with (i.e. i'd prefer to see Ali back, if he's ready) then I agree, CNK + TT at the back.

We are currently at 4 but based on yesterday we are the worst team in the league. The injury toll is tough, but we're not reacting well/ Time to step up

We were shit but those refs did the up most to ensure the game was as difficult as it can be. What was that BS call on CHT, so you can start walking over on players now…..
Yes your allowed to flop on Warriors when they playing the ball.

And Wahine can't hold players down for more than 2 seconds but opposition can carry on and score a try after Wahine have held them for 10 seconds.

You will find these rules in the K.M.A section.

Have been doing some reflection and yes while there is room for improvement, I think many of us are greatly overestimating what the 'available' squad are capable of achieving.

Our depth allows us to compete, but teams that compete don't finish top 4 and definitely don't win comps.

The reality is we lost a NSW/Kangaroo front rower and the dally m leading halfback. Both were so crucial to our performances.

Broncos without Haas & Reynolds, Raiders without Tapine & Fogarty, Penrith without Cleary & Yeo. These teams would be middling too if they lost these players for the season.

There have been a few too many pitchforks. It was just two weeks ago that people were commenting about DWZ having a great game. These last couple of weeks haven't been his best moments and it's hard to argue not finding a place for Taine who is doing every thing he can to gain a regular starting spot, but some of what I've read has been a bit OTT at times.

He gets his flowers when he plays well
The strap when he doesn’t
What wrong wit that approach?

Just rewatching the game. Their 3rd try came of off the back of 2 knock ons and an advantage. I don’t think the first knock on was a warriors knock on, yeah CNK knocks it on but this was post the titans player knocking it on. The 2nd knock on being a Capewell strip but Kelly knock it on in the same play before the Capewell knock on. That’s a lot of advantage in 5 minutes, which lead to the Sami try.

I do find the sentiment in here pretty funny at times. (I'm guilty of this stuff too).

Since the 2011 GF (13 full seasons) we have an average ladder position at seasons end of 11th!

Were clinging into 4th and people want to check the coach.

It's a good reminder we're on an upwards trajectory at the moment, but not much more than that.

And long may that continue.

I think the refs are trying to hand break the top 4 teams and close the competition up. Lower the top teams and raise the cellar dwellers.

They couldn’t take us down against the Knights so did a better job this week.

Such is the way of the NRL. ‘Closest competition in the world’

Over? Brother, our season is just beginning!
That's the spirit - hang onto those thoughts -we are nearing the end. With a few subtle changes by a serious AW, we can stay in the top 4. Apart from the Bulldogs, we are still well in with six rivals ranked no better than eighth on the table. We should be rubbing our hands and licking our lips in anticipation of good results ahead.
