We got some good players out, Taj, ease up some. We won. Add a full pass fitness CNK, Tohu, Metcalf, SJ etc' etc' etc'... and the tigers would've won, haha :sneaky: Thought Kosi evened the flow (for himself) and then some. RTS, for mine, is thinking too much I don't know why? DWZ is a Beast Wing with fault. TMM did enough and CHT redeemed. Anyhow, grab the Hīnaki boy, Eels nek Fry!
Love your whakaaro e hoa...
It is what it is...nek minnit 🤣

Missed the game glad I watched the mini match. What was glaring was Egan’s lack of speed getting to the play the ball and his passing was horrible at times. Slow and a lot of balls down near the halves boot laces.

Since that Souths game in which he was talked as an Origin bolter his form has been average. I know in a Ford bashed but even in the mini match he kept running into Dylan Walker. Leka for 9 mins🤷‍♀️

Glad to see the smile on CHT’s face, everyone can kick goals behind a keyboard & a dozen beers deep. Perspective we had CNK, Rocco, Montoya, Tauapiki, Pompey, Metcalf, SJ, Tohu and co. missing.

Fox said before the game the 6 close wins but 4 in particular, Storm, Titans, Dogs & Raiders, would have had us sitting in the top 4. SJ, CNK, Tohu and a few others have been below par on last season form.

There are games to be played this weekend but we would be in the 8 at this moment if we won just two of the mentioned 6.

Sometimes, you get beaten in a tight match. The argument is not as simple as just losing, there have been many average teams with limited aspirations who get beaten in tight games regularly. It is more to do with the winning positions that have been squandered.

There have been 6 games this year that we have lost where we had a lead in the match. The average lead in those games was 9.6 points.

That has to be an anomaly. How can you lead 6 different games by an average of nearly 10 points and lose all of them!!!!!!!

Never seen a team make metres so easily and then not turn it into anything, actually the 2018 team was a bit like that, powered by the back 3 they’d match up field all game but end up with lot of bully dummy half barge over attempts If the right side shift wasn’t on.

We got plenty of 6 agains (a few on tackle 1 thou) ref was fine, what’re yous on about?

Call it 30-10 with an extra conversion and no last second try - would that be anymore convincing - probably not, the tigers suck.

You're right LB, Egan was off, but he was right on at the same time. Hough!

Makasene, *breaths in through nostrils ... we All feel the pain ... Makasene

I think the fairly obvious reason we aren't clicking at all this year is lack of consistency in selection. Most of it has been injury forced...can anyone remember the last time we were close to full strength?
Its an issue most teams deal with. Its a 26 round plus finals season. Our inconsistency has been a lack of ability to perform at our best (which is devastating when we fire) for entire games. Some of our best performances have resulted in losses. They are more digestable than when we just don't show up mentally or physically or both.

Some of our best victories have been with our patchwork teams against better teams.

Whatever challenges we face as a team, it's on our team to figure out and perform to our absolute best for every minute of every game. That's the consistency I think we need. And it can have second third and fourth stringers in the team and still be somewhat achievable if we have the foundations in place.

Poor old Benji got blind-sided in the press conference!

"Are you aware John Bateman has just left the club"

"Nup"

"You're not aware"

"Nah, boys told me after the game. All good, that's fine"

They'll be stoked though. Bateman has been a bludger on their cap. He was a ludicrous signing.
Well, he WAS a Great! In the last two years he's been Average (below Average tbh.) The other import Englishman are/were, present time, so much better! So, Bateman's going home, end of.

Just finished watching the replay. Game was a pass, but fuck me.

RTS went off for a lifting tackle that didn't go beyond the horizontal because it could have become dangerous. Which the refs boss came out and said was the correct call

Since then Wahs players have been tipped over the horizontal and tonight actually properly tipped over on to his head. No sin bins.

Really exemplifies that the Wahs have to play by different rules to other teams.

Thought the DWZ tackle was very obvious

Then he was worked on the ground and still nothing

Bloody bizarre.

That doesn't help but for me we simply do not have an attacking structure in the red zone.

Pretty much without fail our second or third receiver will be running at the corner post or worse when receiving the ball. We've run ourselves out of room all year.

Our attack was broken down in the very first game of the season - "defend the lead runner, jam the sweeper" - that's it, that's the defense needed to shut us down - been happening all year.

What have we done to combat that? Absolutely nothing. For fucks sake we weren't even grubbering for how many games in a row against rushing defenses. Rainbow pass to the winger? forget it.

Never has an NRL team wasted so much field position and possession.

We literally march down field every set. Most of the NRL would sell their soul to achieve what we achieve rolling down field.

The Tigers were brave and made efforts on efforts all game. With such a young side in a club dealing with so much turmoil I thought they played tough.

As for the Wahs, no one played poorly, there were clunky executions in the spine where RTS was the standout. My major question was why was there no one providing an offloading option for AFB. On reflection I do not recall ane offloads.

Good result but too long taken to secure the points.
