"Putting the ball into that space". Yep, that's an issue I often think we have. We pass to where the player is, rather than where the space is. So, Player A's pass goes behind Player B because Player B was in the space but the ball was where he'd been or he wasn't in the space...Don't know which is more bloody annoying as a fan!
My concern is the backline doesn't stand deep enough to run onto the ball ie we throw flat passes rather than pass backwards which restricts our space.

had a short rewatch of the attack in the first half, fair to say the only time it looked like anything was when CHT had the ball with a certain amount of space - he controlled the left side well, with straight runs, decent passing and good in play kicks. TMM was all over the place, floating across the the left side too but really not organising anything there or on the right - much of that was left to Walker. Also noticed the taste for stacking big bodies either side of CHT, to the extent he would slip out to second or third receiver and Ali or AFB would take a straight carry one or two off the ruck...

there has to be a right side structure for us to be better, and it's just not there at the moment

i think as the week passes people will look more positively back on Friday night.
It was a win. The Tigers despite being last are a decent team and apart from a few bad moments put out a decent showing on Friday night.

Im actually of the opposite opinion that we're receiving the ball too deep and not flat at the line enough.....and its the depth (or space between the ball carrier and the defence} thats allowing the defensive line a simple drift out hence our shifts have been so easy to shut down.
I think tho wether u receive the ball at depth or flat at the line both can be acheived at pace if the timing is right.....and as others have alluded to with th constant changing combinations from game to game timing has been a big issue all season.

Yea I'm I'm heavily in favour of a CHT / SJ combo if SJ can get fit.

Here is a small observation

When we win the pill 40 metres out with a fresh set of six we do not spend the first three tackles one off the ruck rumble it forward into a scoring position in the red zone from where we can run a set play for dallin or kosi and try to get across the line with bodies in motion.
instead when we are 45 metres out we do bodies in motion set plays immediately to try to bust them for a medium range try by attempting to put someone through a gap.
We are the only team that does this. Everyone else prioritises rumbling it up and getting close the try line before running shapes
