But I also member i think 2018 when we faced their depleted side with Luai smoking us lol
this is not 2018. 2025 wahs takes no one lightly. I expect us to go ruthless on their asses, with or without Cleary, Edwards and co. That's what separates us from pretenders like Cronulla. They thought they could just turn up against a NSW cup quality roosters side a few weeks back without their SOO stars.

They will read our forum and be too worried about our PD, 50:0 🤣

With Capes now playing Origin, assuming he’s in the 17, it means he probably misses the Panthers game. Coming back from Perth with a 5 hour time difference, 6 hour flight and two days to prepare pretty much will rule him out. Better to line him up for the Broncos game as the Panthers will be a reserve grade side (let’s be honest)

So the team could be this - assuming a few are back from injury

1. CNK
2. DWZ
3. Berry
4. Pompey
5. RTS
6. CHT
7. Metclaf
8. JFH
9. Egan
10. Niukore
11. Halasima
12. Laban
13. Clark

14. TMM/Healy (take your pick)
15. Ford
16. Vaimanga
17. TSS

18. TMM/Healy
19. Ale

Re backs cover, if they go with Healy then Halasima could cover centre.

we must bank a win against the Panthers at home in a clinical fashion given their outs, and then move attention to the 4 point swing against the Broncos away with Capes back in the mix.

Healey had a great game in the weekend, but so did Martin who looks more comfortable in the position.

TMM is a straight swap if a hooker, half or fullback goes down. If you pick Healey and either half or CNK goes down you are looking at multiple position changes.

Its TMM on the bench for me.
Certainly did an admirable job at the weekend. I'm thinking they will try to develop TMM into a Dylan Walker-type player. (Who is making a real difference to the Eels when he comes on, similar to how he was for us. Great to see.)

Just roll with last week's team but replace Capewell with Berry. I'd give Egan another week if the hip is not 100%. He's too important to risk losing for an extended period if he comes back too early.

Want us to flex our premiership muscles by going ruthless on these guys. They may be depleted by origin but they are still the 4 time defending champs. They have the potential to surprise us if we think we just have to turn up to win. I know the boys, especially fish, will be looking to rip into them and won't have complacency on their mind. But in case they need a reminder of what can happen if you underestimate Penrith cubs, just have to recall the last time we played an injury depleted penrith team during origin in 2018. We were actually coming 4th then and Penrith were 5th. Their baby side, led by a young Luai actually, ripped us apart 36-4:

Exactly
Anyone that believes that Panthers without their stars
Are a pushover
Nah
They have young guys that will do the job
Panthers Roosters Cowboys on the rise
Keep winning Wahs
Don’t read what people are saying about top 4 finish
Just get into playoffs🤟👏👏

It's going to be a real slug fest of a game i think. Moses is going to reach a whole new level going against his bash brother, which i hope will do the same to fish. They also have a lot more on the line. I'd still say we out class them by a large margin in skill and grit. But i doubt the energy is going to be lacking on the perth side.

Looks like Ali does have another ankle injury so unlikely for the Panthers game. And probably best to rest to make sure that it doesn't become chronic.

But if Rocco hammy is still no good, who goes center with capes also out?

Was at this game... was a long trip out to Penrith and an even longer trip back. It was Luai's break-out game, just his second game in the NRL - absolutely tore us to shreds... no easy games in the NRL!

Need to go out there next Saturday and do a job, especially at home.

We are thin in the Centres. MGT has not come into calculations even before he signed for Souths. He is killing it in Cup. He has FG experience. I can only surmise it is something other than ability.

they will try to out grind us like they did against Parra and Tigers. But I don't think they have the forwards to outmuscle us in this game. Moses will find out like AFB did last week that if you try to take on JFH, you need to get through all the other members of our pack first. Our middles hunt together as a unit this year. I expect it will be like the sharks game where it is a real arm wrestle in the first half but in the second half the game gets away as we gradually wear them down physically.

We are at a stage that if we play well we will out grind the OG grinders ;). I think we are very well drilled and committed to the process, Penrith has been much less convincing in this area. It won't be easy because I think they will lift but I have no doubts our team, is in fact a team that are very well drilled in this area.
