Even acknowledging Penrith were not at their best, we were the most obviously under-strength team out there but if you'd turned off the commentary and didn't follow any of the media leading up the game (ie you just thought "I'm bored, let's watch this rugby league thing I've never seen before") you wouldn't really have known it.
I heard one comment from a ZB sports' commentator that there were only three words to describe the forthcoming weekend "Phoenix/Phoenix/Phoenix. Brief comment on the Warrior's "let's not talk about them". I wonder if they will "eat their words"? Not likely but who cares about that.

soz if this has been asked and answered already, but what was that last penalty even for? Pompey destroys Cole in a legit tackle and there's a knock on, and ? Too hyped to question it at the time, he wasn't offside, and there was nothing wrong with the contact.

I'm buzzing from that. Sure the Panthers were off their game, but we did enough and won. Wow.

After the "knock on", they regather and get tackled, it's then we rip the ball out with two in the tackle.

Charnz stripped the ball out of the guy lying on the floor possibly in a 2-men tackle, no reviews either lol, thanks Jazz

It was nice to see a smile on Webby's face in the post match. I may be wrong but I get the impression that he gives the team plenty of agency (accountability) when it comes to what they want to do, and club identity.

Ultimately it's the players on the field that execute, but I think credit goes to Webby and the way he has approached his role. I can see a real cuture developing here and I think he has been the catalyst. I also remind myself that he is, in effect, a rookie coach still learning his craft. He will get better, and I think he has the nous and temperment to do just that.
I'm rather intrigued to see the direction he goes from here.

It actually worked out cuz if they played on with the ref's non-call, it's only tackle 1 complete with over one and half minute to go, that was right after To'o's massive break

How nice was it after the Kosi/Crighton jamming in tackles in last year's magic game we had Pompey doing one right at the end Panthers got so shook they vomited and shanked the goal kick

CNK ripped at the ball on the Liam Martin while the tackle was complete and he lost it.

Should have given Roache the don't argue and score lol

Lol. It was a terrible stroke of bad luck. The offload came quite late and nothing Walker or Roache could do, just completely caught out. If Walker even tries to score from there it'll get called back from the bunker.

Watching the game yesterday made me realise that a problem with SJ, Egan, Walker, TMM, Tohu is that there’s too many passers and not enough runners. We need a running 6 and to make sure when Walks is on Tohu is off, or playing a run first role.
Disagree entirely. At the start of the season Egan & SJ were running around just fine.

Walker was great yesterday. Issue is TMM a shit 6, and Tohu is done.

Great to be back in the winners circle! Barnett surely secured a ticket to NSW camp. Really missed the mongrel that an in form Jazz ca bring; him standing over poleaxed ball runners gets me FIZZED.

Dolphins won't be a cake walk but if we can build momentum with another win, our season could be coming out of the ICU

What a magical win this was! What better way to snap our losing streak than against Penrith. The whole team pretty much played well. No credit to Webster for the win as he had no choice but to select this team. It shows that the injured players may be the problem all along. Unfortunately Webster will pick them when they return from injury.
