Roache looks like the 2nd best hooker next to Egan we need to keep playing him. Whole team stood up but was really impressed with walker. Ran hard and squared up our attack creating opportunities out wide. Been a long time since our attack looked that good. Amazing what can happen if you use the whole width of the field.

Bottom line, no disrespect but Shaun has an ego that says he needs to be in charge. Tonight we saw what can happen when the ego goes in the dustbin. Not sure of Webby's game plan but 2nd phase and off loading all of a sudden became De Rigour. And it worked, so Kudos to the Web.

I've not read the final 5 pages yet, but my BIG QUESTION is; Is the coach telling SJ what to do on the 5th or is SJ deciding?.. as we all know its so transparent it ridiculous... typically 8/10 are uncontested as the kick is wrong or the players don't go for it.. does my nut. I realise if you make a play for it you run the risk of a breakaway but come on, have a crack and do different things so its unpredictable.

It's hard to gauge how much credit to give Webster as I'm not sure if there was a distinct change of tactics, more likely he just tried to instill confidence in them & the instructions was for TMM to play what was in front of him.
As for Ivan, I think he got a bit cute putting Leota on the bench & carrying Peachey in the 17 when he had Soni Luke available. Kenny can't play 80 minutes week after week or he'll burn out & miss 7 tackles like he did yesterday. Luke can kick too, as shown by playing #7 in NSW Cup, so all the load wouldn't have all fallen on Luai either

We have to give him a lot of credit for the performance. Regardless of who wasn't playing, Webster obviously created an environment throughout the week to instill confidence and more importantly a desire to stay in the fight and defend. This forum has knocked Webster for the performances in the last few weeks. He deserves credit - head coaching is a tough gig.

SJ looked ultra frustrated against Penrith at the playoff last year when he was injured, at the HT interview kept emphasizing on "the system" so it could be him and Webby feeding the idea off each other and confirming each others' bias this year, takes something drastic like 3 of the 4 halves injured and CNK to 6 to introduce fresh ideas and probably caught themselves and the opposition off guard lol, we were calving them up big time, weren't they 1 of the best defensive team in the comp?

It could be SJ's insistence or maybe simply he was too old to generate fresh heads up plays, and others had ideas but never got a chance to implement till yesterday.

Or, it could just be our pack was awesome so anyone would look great in the backline?

Their halfback played most of the game with a suspected broken finger, a hooker with less than 20 minutes of NRL experience had to get through over an hour on the field and the fullback risked missing the birth of his first child in order to take his place in the side.

For those reasons and plenty more, the Warriors’ 22-20 victory over the Panthers on Sunday, which ended a six-game winless run that threatened to derail their season ahead of Magic Round, will be remembered as one of the gutsiest efforts in club history.
While few could have predicted the result given the Warriors’ recent run of form and the absence of nine frontline players, coach Andrew Webster said the signs were there during the week that his side was primed to turned things around at Suncorp Stadium.
“There was a lot of belief in what we wanted to do this week. What happened during the week and the way the boys were and [how they] focused… so many leaders stood up this week and wanted to own what we wanted to do,” Webster said.

With hooker Wayde Egan ruled out after 12 minutes due to a head knock, Paul Roache was required to play the remainder of the game at hooker in his third appearance at NRL level and came up with 37 tackles.
Both Jackson Ford and Marcelo Montoya also spent time off the field for head injury assessments, while halfback Te Maire Martin was going through issues of his own that nobody knew about.
The 28-year-old suffered a suspected broken finger in the opening exchanges but shook it off to lay on two crucial try assists in the second half for Ali Leiataua and Adam Pompey.

Late heroics followed from backup fullback Taine Tuaupiki – who was called into the squad to take the spot of Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad who had to move into the halves to replace the injured Shaun Johnson – with his try and conversion 10 minutes from time giving the Warriors the winning edge.
But the second-year flyer revealed post-match that he easily could have missed the flight to Brisbane altogether, with his partner Kitana due to give birth to the couple's first child any day.

"I got a little spray from Webby because although I told him a couple of weeks ago [about the due date], I didn't remind him," Tuaupiki said post-match.
"She's a trooper, she's been so strong and she could have easily just said 'no, you're not going'.
"It was pretty surreal... I knew we needed the two points [before I kicked the last conversion], but I just knew that if I stared at the clock I probably would have hyped myself a bit too much.
"It was exciting to have a cool little moment like that."

Well, that game just caused some serious selection issues when the big names start coming back.

Before the game I said if CNK does well at 6 then I'd be keen for a CNK 6/Johnson 7 combo allowing RTS to go to fullback. I wasn't expecting TMM to have our best half-performance of the season, and Taine to take 6 Dally M Points like that. Unsure what to do here now. If the new spine does well again next week id probably be in favour of giving Shaun an extended rest if he needs it - no reason to rush him back if he has niggles and these guys keep it up?

Jazz may have just earned himself a new contract there. He was immense both with the ball and on defence.

Someone asked about what we would do with Capewah when he's back. The guy is a dominant tackler I reckon he'd be much better in the middle... I hate to say it, I'm not sure what to do with Tohu either.

yes many headaches ... I think we need to let this team play again next week and take it from there... RTS can take a wing spot give monty a rest the guys arms wrapped up like a mummy ... TOHU should if healthy get a bench spot or given more time to rest he looks to be carrying muti minor injuries .. wouldn't rush back SJ not till he's 100% ... agree Capewah in the middle ... I agree JAZZ stepped up ... he's dumb first play the ball I was pissed.. but he really turned up and proven his speed ... and that's what are team showed speed and movement ... hands 100% better than previous weeks

commentators pretty much put the game to Panthers playing poorly for our win ...but it was are running the ball/fast rack solid D I don't think I've see so much running from the spine this season Walkers role was immense ... our kicking game was never going be the best the boys rolled the sleeves up and focused on moving the ball ...rather than the SJ runs the show everyone follow the leader that was leading us to the bottom 4!!! TMM hands and runs were the best I'd seen from him two direct try's come from he run n pass against one of the best D teams in the comp

many times in the game half are team wasn't even back in the line they were poked but just turned back up and got their second wind

Not a dig but at least the last 3 opponents were playing dropsies (Titans, Knights and Roosters) and we just managed to do de javu plays in the redzone, 1 man hit ups, right to SJ for a Ford hit up, finally shapes to loop to DWZ then he sees 2 defenders in front of him, and when they finally score TMO finds Ford running into defenders

This week the youngsters actually calved them up and it's the last 1-2 passes they didn't quite have the timing to finish off the tries, or blocking own player to the try line lol

I can see SJ doing those TMM assisted tries though given the chances, maybe they should just share games with each other

That. THAT!!!! Is the effort required to be a successful team. Having incumbents out was a great adversity to tackle and the approach was finally one where nobody relied on somebody else to do the heavy lifting. Congratulations Warriors and supporters.
