This was the best 80 minutes performance I have seen ever from a Warriors' team (and I have never missed one). However, don't be fooled into a false sense of security. It came after a dreadful game in Las Vegas (and the inevitable bounce-back) against a team brimming with (over) confidence after a fantastic game last week. Also note we benefited from a very much lop-sided penalty and six again.
Next week's game against the surprise winning Roosters should attract a full house. If they can repeat this performance, it would show us to be genuine contenders.
Home is becoming a real fortress and players look like they don’t like coming here. Can’t remember the person earlier, think it was Snake77? But they’ve got match day down, looks a great spectacle with a real hostile crowd. With manly viewed as the most impressive in round 1, the way they were beaten up really was encouraging. Better forward pack against roosters with a few Kiwis playing in front of family, so can’t drop and probably need to lift again

Interesting dynamic when CHT scores his try. He's sedate, points to his wrist band and the sky, gets a bit excited when teammates rock up, but when Luke rocks up to congratulate him, Chanel gets SUPER worked up and excited. Interesting when you consider that neither halves are "rated" and are both probably under pressure.

That reaction makes it look like they are pretty tight duo, which maybe a really important factor the way we chop and change halves.

Watching the replay now. Him, Barney, Egan and Clark dominating the defence in the first 25min.
Second week running Egan highest tackle count I think? He was immense and huge to us having success. Must have been some of his highest running metres in a while and need that to create defenders second guessing whether he’ll run and open space for his halves. Their strong showing had a lot to with him. Really impressed with CHT too and is becoming a running threat

They know if they falter
Tmm and Tb are knock knocking o. The door

Here are my observations

1) Having Clark at Lock was a big improvement from Vegas. At Vegas we got cute by changing Clark away from Lock.
2) Ford off the bench is a reasonable player. He played 32 minutes last night vs over 50 in round one. When he has 25-30 minutes it allows him to go hard rather than coasting to conserve his energy.
3) Leka and Vaimauga were good and mistake free. The coach is watching and taking notes.
4) One percenter plays that impressed me no end. With two minutes before half time DCE chipped and chased. Capewell trurned around and then made his frame large so DCE could not run around him to save a potential try. That was pure experience and showed his SOO game IQ. I maligned CNK last week but I will give him ups for something. Luke Brooks attempted a 40 20 and because it was close to the side line CNK when he retrieved the ball sprinted back infield horizontally to get as far infield as he could before the kick chase arrived. When the kick chase got to him they temporarily thought of lifting him up and dragging him into touch but they gave up on the idea when they realised he was ten metres from the side line. Another one percenter we did was securing our sets after points - strong carries with nothing adventurous. Finally two games in and no roll ball penalties against us although I thought we got lucky on one ocassion.
5) Dylan Walker needs to settle. I thought the arrival of Fish and Clark made him want to compete a bit. It looked like he wanted to put too many shots on and make a statement - although this also could have been his bounce back from Vegas and just wanting to win.
6) This was a huge game for confidence building. The team started to get know each other and trust each other. In the first few red zone raids the Forwards hogged the ball and wouldn't give it to our halves as they obviously didn't trust them. Then once Metcalf and CHT showed they were competent the Forwards deferred to our halves and playmakers and we started to look like a team. Nothing builds team work like winning does. I also liked the interview of Metcalf after the game. It was a good experience for him to be able to reflect and receive praise from the panel. That will grow his confidence.
7) Metcalf's goal kicking was very important while the game was close.

TMM was great and Boyd solid. Interesting TMM captain. They shared kicking just like Metcalf/CHT and Boyd as a true halfback in the sense of managing the game looked like it freed TMM more to be the running five eighth. Such a hard character to get a read on because post game says I’m off fishing, but was in the crowd with the other boys. Thought he was really good though. I can’t remember a game in a while in both grades where the opposition doesn’t score first

Well that was a pleasant surprise!!
Clark showed he is a bonafide starter IMO. Ford looked better when he didn't play 60 minutes straight in the middle
Fish and Barnett looked aggressive
Niukore looked scary again and thankfully didn't concuss himself
Halves looked good, CNK looked like the CNK I so am so staunch to defend.

Biggest improvement though was it looked as if we adjusted our defence to nullify Manly's attack. Our edges jamming up and in to put pressure on the through the hands edge plays yielded some errors

I'm absolutely Gutted.

Skysport was terrible in the first half and then nothing in the second half until 5 minutes to go.
Really hard to give any feedback when the quality of the picture was so bad.
The bits that I did see were Egan tearing them apart together with Clark who I have given big wraps on this forum.
Worth noting that the team never dropped its lip when the Ref gave some dreadful decisions.
Never lost faith in Webby or our team.

Sorry to hear this !! SKy's job is to make sure key sports match are transmitted successfully to 100% of its paying subscribers. You should complain???

Watching from my hostel bed in Amsterdam after a big night on the truffles. I wasn’t sure if I was tripping balls or we were actually winning!

Agar must have been teaching the lads to attack after Vegas 😜

Great confidence building win for the lads, I could feel Luke looking more relaxed as the game went on.

I’m looking forward to a week of positive comments here and a break from the “sky is falling, sack everyone” fans
Lol. Takes an attack on a woke Guardian journalist to fire up the team, and maybe some binge watching of Cobra Kai!

Strike hard, strike fast, strike first.

Our defence was attacking last night. Who needs a shit hot attack when you just beat up the opposition for 60 minutes. I’m looking at you JFH, Barnett, Jake the Muss and Erin Clark. Legends!

I was wondering about that. My Sky now app is buffering or the picture is all pixelated like it’s 2005 on a dodgy Chinese stream….

It’s obviously a system issue?

Makes a huge difference when everyone is having a red hot go.
