Interesting dynamic when CHT scores his try. He's sedate, points to his wrist band and the sky, gets a bit excited when teammates rock up, but when Luke rocks up to congratulate him, Chanel gets SUPER worked up and excited. Interesting when you consider that neither halves are "rated" and are both probably under pressure.

That reaction makes it look like they are pretty tight duo, which maybe a really important factor the way we chop and change halves.
As Lukey said in the post match it’s about building the relationships in the team and with CHT and feeding off each others energy. They all look stoked to be around each other, support when there’s a mistake, know your role, but keeping grounded. Time will tell, but looked like a happy team and ready to make MT Smart a fortress

Home is becoming a real fortress and players look like they don’t like coming here. Can’t remember the person earlier, think it was Snake77? But they’ve got match day down, looks a great spectacle with a real hostile crowd. With manly viewed as the most impressive in round 1, the way they were beaten up really was encouraging. Better forward pack against roosters with a few Kiwis playing in front of family, so can’t drop and probably need to lift again

One home game win, let’s not jump the gun again

I think last season our win record was atrocious. We were a fortress made of sand.

It was refreshing not having all the promotional nonsense- sold out blah bhal shoved down our throats this week. Just focus on the W. Keeping a low profile might suit us better. Don’t believe the hype like these guys are rock stars

Metcalf showed classic half back skills on Ali's try. Sold it perfectly to Brooks and Faulalo

Simple pop pass to a rampaging bull close to the line. Hard to stop.

There were a few times he drifted to the left with the ball a little too much using up all the space for the outside backs. No doubt they will watch tape and correct on these points for a more fluid flow

His conversions should also be commended 6/6? 👏🏻

I’m usually a CHT hater. Thought he played really well also. Your flowers Chanel 🌺 😂

This was the place in 2023 and true fortress vibes that we need to return to and was an encouraging step in the right direction. Even last year in a poor season we had 1 draw, 5 wins and 5 losses at home. Away we had 9 losses and 4 wins, so we perform better at home as an indication. Probably helps the crowds we got, but we seem to get decent support away too

Poor Jazz got fined for the water bottle throwing… $1800 grade 1 contrary conduct charge.
Shebold better chip in.

It was very clear that he told Jazz to go out there an try to get under the skin of his former team mates. Dumb instruction since Jazz is at his best when he knuckles down and just plays.

A smart man would use Jazz to draw penalties not incur them.

If you look at why Manly lost the game it was down to indiscipline, that period where they made the Ref look like a laughing stock with the six agains ended with a send off for the most blatant (embarrassingly so) ruck interference you would ever hope to see in the NRL.

They were clearly on a coaches instruction to disrupt the Warriors and stop them getting any kind of Ruck flow, Jazz was just extra icing on top.

Not that I don’t disagree but
A tik tok clip of a prelim final doesn’t count

I am pleased the bunker didn't over turn any of the tries. I only want the Bunker interferring per the new dictate "If there is clear evidence to make an alternative decision".
I thought the bunker worked perfectly last night - much better than last season with all sorts of tries being disallowed. Especially against the lower ranked teams.

The key here was they didn't over turn our tries either. Theirs were more controversial, but there's been plenty of games where theirs would have been allowed and ours would have been over turned which is incredibly infuriating. Every try got awarded so it felt like more of a consistent benefit of the doubt system.
