Pick Your Team Warriors v Manly - [Round 2, 2025]

It was super weird seeing photos of the team walking through a sea of supporters (12,000?) Like this club has not won a comp for 30 years and came off a horrible season, and receives this kind of fanfare for…not achieving anything? 😂 Great for photo ops but I am not a 15 year old searching for 3 second thrills on tiktok, I am getting too old for 80 minute of suffering watching the current and future potentials getting wasted

Rant over 😂🤦
This is why we need to get rid of blokes like Stacey etc. Too much veneration for blokes who have never won anything.

After this blow up with Agar, I googled him. That journo isn’t wrong, guy has a rubbish coaching record.

Because of the occasion you can start doing mind games with the selections:

"The boys are going to be on edge, we need to keep it simple at the start, don’t take too much risk passing or offloading, Clark will provide more impact than Ford, so start Ford, he’ll do a solid job," then they just have an overly tentative mindset and aren't up for it.

Then once it’s clear they are chasing the game:

"Our experienced players will be more capable of digging us out, not fair to ask the rookies to make up for their errors."

All the hype it’s a bit like the 2001 grand final where the coach loses sight of what works.

If they repeat that shit in the familiar surrounds of mt smart, massive flashing warning sirens going off.

Just park Lussick on the bench, you don’t need to use him, but he’ll cover for hooker injury and work hard in the final 10 minutes, that’s ok, leaves more minutes for the rest of the forwards. If the NRL stats are correct 13 minutes for Demetric is baffling.

What potential?

He never dominated in first grade, he never dominated in NSW Cup. People got excited because he occasionally put on a big hit and did some fluke kick that dribbled the right way in a jr test once.

He tries hard and I wish him well, but he's not even Thomas Lealuai level.
He's still levels above Boyd.

That's just the sorry state our squad is in this year.

Yea for sure. Other clubs have solid assistants where other teams are chasing them.

Our assistants are trash. I mean none would get snapped by other clubs.

Stacey been there for how long and what does he actually offer? Sweet f all. They have zero accountability.

Although Mr Conservative won't make any changes. Probably 1 😂. He owes it to us fans that travelled all they way there for that dogshit performance.
1. Tuaupiki
2. RTS
3. Leiataua
4. CNK
5. MGT/Kali
6. Metcalf
7. TMM
8. JFH
9. Egan
10. Barnett
11. Laban
12. Halasima
13. Clark

14. Boyd
15. Walker
16. Vaimauga
17. Niukore

Honestly think this is our best side bar DWZ in for Kali. Don't see the need for Capewell anymore. Can't attack nor defend and as for Leaders we have JFH Barnett and RTS. All we need.
CHT to play 13 for NSW Cup and spend the year getting as big as possible to take over Walker if we don't resign him.

Pretty good team. Just drop Marata off the bench and let another young guy get the experience. Can't be any worse

That's true. But would give him a few games of the bench to see if that sparks a fire under him to earn his starting spot back from one of the young guns. Plus needs to be utilised properly. Running so unders and cutting back into the defence is great at that.

For my team I would like to see CNK dropped for his performance. If Berry if in the frame for round 2 then have Taine to FB and move Pompey or Ali to wing. For the second row either Niukore or Capewell dropped. Not both but just one. Probably Capewell as dropping such a senior player would send a clear message to everyone else. Would like Leka to start and perhaps bring in Laban to the bench or Bunty (Including Bunty was hard for me to type lol). Clark to start at 13 as Barnett is not the answer there.

I see you bought into HQ's kool-aid.. Berry still listed as "indefinite". They are protecting the kid.

Yeah, these are my sentiments now too, seeing that Berry is named in cup this weekend (but we could well see Kali run out in Berry's spot ... still don't know what is going on there ) :

TT
Pompey
Berry
Ali
RTS

I do not mean to be party pooper but CHT has been involved in our halves for years. We seem to be in love with his potential over what he actually is. He promises a lot but is not a NRL standard half. He is a very good bench utility and bleeds for the team but he is lacking what we need as a starting half. He is Mr half break, half chance, always nearly but very rarely..... hard truth but if we stick with him we will get what we always got. TMM or Boyd in over him at the halves.
Yeah I have to agree not much of a CHT fan ...personally don't have a place for him even on the bench .. either CNK comes into the halves or even TT -or TMM anyone but CHT alongside Luke .. got to be combo that can work .. also play Props in prop ... Bunty deserves a run over FORD FFS!! who's a lock not prop ... I agree with others I don't see WEBBY don't much changes outside his excuses why we got thumped as he plays the bench players for 5-15mins a game

In: Afoa, Laban, Ale.
Out: Ford, Capewell, Niukore.

Forwards - we got dominated physically in the middle in Round 1, that cannot happen if we're any chance to win games in this competition. Our edges were sluggish and lacked any offensive or defensive threat, again, that can't be the case going forward. Barnett isn't a 13 in this side, we've seen how good he can be coming off the bench in the middle. He can sub Fish after 25-30 minutes so we have 1 of our captains on the field at all times. Bunty and Ale solidify the middle for the early stages, we simply cannot be dominated and exhausted like we were in Round 1. Laban is the future on that left edge, and Halasima on the right, time to take the leashes off, they won't be perfect but they will play with energy and desire which can't be said for Capewell and Niukore.

Backs: You can only piss with the dick you've got... we know we're slow but reality says that's not going to change in the short term. I'd move Ali to the left to combine with RTS and Laban, Pompey plays on the right until Berry is back to 1st grade fitness. I think Metcalf and CNK will be a decent enough halves combination if the forwards can at minimum hold parity in the middle. CNK holds his spot at fullback until DWZ returns and Tuaupiki becomes our #1.

Bench: Energy, Energy, Energy and more Energy.
