Pick Your Team Warriors v Knights - [Round 8, 2025]

I think it’s a fair question. Definitely didn’t make the most of the opportunities last year. Averaged under 30 run metres per game l and was dragged in the Titans game that he got a start in for defensive lapses.

Agreed that he looked much better defensively against the Broncos but needs to start showing some ability in first grade, as Leka and Demetric did at the same age (or younger)
Good point.

I am showing bias too.

Been following him since his Aotearoa māori tournament days.
Know how capable he can be.

First stint in topside was Rocks and diamonds.
Still showed glimpses.

He is knocking now, needs to fulfill his potential 2nd time around.
Made a good fist of his first opportunity so far.

According to SEN, Knights will get Dylan Lucas back. Haven't watched enough of the Knights to know if Lucas makes much of a difference to their go forward.
Lucas played 'emself into the starting line-up this year (usually warmed the bench the past two years.) Good on attack and same with defence. He'll mos-def help out the ny-nites but we'll still beat 'em down here in Mighty Christchurch! ✊:p

Have to admit- this game is giving me nightmares. The heroics of last week beating a premiership contender with a B team will be all but forgotten if we slip up against a team that can barely score 10 pts a game. The coach is under pressure and according to Knights fans, he becomes a dead man walking if this game is lost. They are trying to rush injured forwards back for this game and have sent them all on a plane to Auckland yesterday from what I understand. Plenty of reasons why we could get ambushed if we take them lightly.

Hope the boys don't rest on their laurels. Given how tight the comp is this year, we really can't afford to drop home games against non-top teams like the Knights. A win here and we could entrench ourselves inside the top 4 and start to put distance between ourselves and the rest of the 8.

the limited Newcastle games I've watched, their central problem is their lack of go-forward. They are running out of middles and their NSW cup replacements clearly aren't ready for first grade. Lucas being an edge player, I don't think helps with that. I'd be a bit more worried if Saifiti, Mad Jack, etc were all coming back for this game.

That's the team. Healey needs to be there. Webby said Egan can't do 80 mins. So why no bench hooker?
Exactly, does Webby want to burn out Egan? A good chance we should have dominant middle go-forward against a weak looking Knights forward pack would be a great platform for Healey's first FG for the WAHs.

TT I'm not a fan of having a short winger even though he has the speed.. personal I would have gave it to KOSI has rough as he can be he can break a tackle and is like another forward running back start of the set 100% win record with him inn the team so far this season LOL ... TT just gets bitched trying to start a set ... FB only IMHO

Yes I like TT but he makes a half break, gets collared and dragged back to the original point.
Slowing down the attack and waste a tackle

Gee am I the only one to see Taine provides spark with his runs that sets up the attack on the next play with his broken field running which forces the line of the opposition to scramble and condense - making holes and or room outside the Taine play the ball?

Big fan of his change of direction here.

Also Egan will be playing the minutes he wants. Egan will be the one Webster listens too when they sit down together to review his minutes played. He is our most senior spine player, he will be the one telling Webster he wants a full game.
