This season we got a favorable draw plus got to go to Vegas in just its second year so that's good evidence there's not a collective bias against the club. I still take notice when the likes of Kevin Campion and Brian Smith have something to say though. It's unfair to paint a brush over all referees who I think generally do a great job under considerable pressure, but that capture of the audio exchange between match officials in the early 2000s was next level as well.Yeah I’m sure all fans feel like their team get a tough go of it from time to time - took my daughter to the game last Friday & she was adamant walking out of the ground that the ref was biased against us, but then no one at the game could tell from the big screen what had played out.
However there’s a next level to that which is the genuine conspiracist fan who believe the NRL want the Warriors to fail. This is addressed in the Bloke in a Bar podcast from Monday. From Kemp & Guru’s comments on that podcast it sounds like there’s a bunch of warriors fans (referred to as the loud minority) that blow things up way beyond objective reasoning. I’d suggest that type of Warriors fan is over-represented on this forum. As a collective, I doubt very much that we represent the typical Warriors fan & therefore from reading posts here it could feel like it’s a majority view that the NRL is biased against us - which any sane person understands is fucking stupid.
That was more blatant racism years ago I thought. This season we got a favorable draw plus got to go to Vegas in just its second year so that's good evidence there's not a collective bias against the club. Which infamous no try? There’s so many I’ve lost count ?!Just finished watching a replay on youtube. Regarding the infamous Pompey no-try call: it doesn't help that there's no audio commentary from the bunker. IMO there should be mandatory audio in the interests of transparency.
It’s not about his fingers moving it bout whether you can see him touch the ball… and no one can see it … therefore tryI was on that boat too. But this ongoing discussion made me want to look into further. I can't see a touch. But he says he touches it, And the fingers look to bend back on slo mo. But I don't see where the knock on is. Neither do my kids and wife. Meh, Won't change the result or nothing will it? Lol.
I could have equally said the Leka Halasima "knock on" call - which led to the Pompey no-tryWhich infamous no try? There’s so many I’ve lost count ?!
I've read bits and pieces of the audio exchange but would you mind saying this story in full? What exactly happened in the early 2000's?This season we got a favorable draw plus got to go to Vegas in just its second year so that's good evidence there's not a collective bias against the club. There's an article here: https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/leagu...h-mark-graham-reveals-racist-slurs-by-refereeI've read bits and pieces of the audio exchange but would you mind saying this story in full? What exactly happened in the early 2000's?
Racism was practically the norm back then. I remember an article from Steve Renolf and how badly he used to be treated by his own playing mates and club because of his aboriginal backgroundThere's an article here: https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/leagu...h-mark-graham-reveals-racist-slurs-by-referee
Not sure if that was the same incident that Graeme Hughes blew up about one time when he was commentating for us? Wasn’t there another incident when the refs were overheard laughing and saying ‘ah well it’s only the Warriors’ around that time? There's an article here: https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/leagu...h-mark-graham-reveals-racist-slurs-by-referee
Metcalf is closestIMO we are making the odd break or poking heads thru the line but with no finishing speed our attack just looks stifled. Think about Leka/Cht or others making a half break with a JAC or Weekes or Iongi flying to support.
Its shut the gate time everytime. We aint got that sort of player unfortunately
Yes, my recollection was it involved ManuNot sure if that was the same incident that Graeme Hughes blew up about one time when he was commentating for us? Wasn’t there another incident when the refs were overheard laughing and saying ‘ah well it’s only the Warriors’ around that time?
