Just stunned on that call man. Seriously
no arms, no nothing. just fucking missiled his shoulder into a players head.

nah no dramas.
a warriors player would get 14 weeks for that shoulder charge. haha.
sums our season up pretty nicely i guess.

moments of slick.
some ref bullshit,
and a bunch of useless.
classic warriors.

1995 i made this my team while playing harry matts at dragons.
love this team every day but jesus wept they make it difficult.

Disappointing but not unexpected.

Still a couple of good things to take away from the game.

Metcalf first 30 minutes. We were completely on the front foot but still good to see he has developed a nice short pass. Last season i doubt he even looks for the pass. Missed a bad one on one with Critta. Went missing a bit in the second half but that's probably a mix of SJs game and the dogs with the wind. Looking forward to seeing what him and TMM can do in the halves next year.

Sifakula looking more and more comfortable in first grade. Hopefully AW uses him well next season.

Capewell another strong game from him. Starting to show his worth since recovering from injury.

I'm quite excited about next season and the team having to reinvent themselves somewhat.

The centres and wingers for us tonight need to be seriously looked at and consideration given to replacements

I didn't think we were that bad until we had both centres out. Most teams are going to struggle in that situation. These multiple injuries in a game have hit us so many times this year.

Reffing is one thing, but I just find the modern rules so fucking annoying to watch as a fan. It honestly puts the on-field referees on a hiding to nothing. Though all the second efforts by the Dogs were a bit on the nose tonight.

Consistency changes on high contact, and the introduction of force as a component. Mitigation and force should be part of an expert assessment, we saw that in the initial lawsuit fearing crackdown during Covid with players being sent off for completely unavoidable high contact. However, the bunker refs do not seem to be highly trained, and things like mitigation and force just seem to appear randomly on a whim.

That stupid drop out situation. Tracey commits a howler of an error in his in goal, and the Dogs get the ball back courtesy of a short drop out and powderpuff penalty. It is just a frustration the game doesn't need and takes away the grubber/chip.

Play the ball officiating changes across the season. Mahoney literally falls off his feet and we are penalised.

Golden point is shit. 1 on 1 strips are not needed and cause mess.

What the fuck is the held rule? Why can you drive a player back 10-15m after held, when you have momentum, but not across the touchline? All brought in with Kearney's offensive defence. Don't we want to see strong packs crushing the opposition? Like the short drop out farce, teams earn that advantage.

And the bunker... get them out of the ref's ear and let him officiate the game. It is not a very attractive package anymore.

Good on ya, SJ, Tevaga and AFB. I've loved your efforts. Metcalf has a future.

Some people just like sucking it up. Unfortunately that group is made up of so called diehard fans and the Warriors HQ. That's why we are still everyone's bitch, and will continue to be.
I'm a die-hard fan. I attended the first ever warriors game in 95. I cried we had a team in the Winfield Cup!! Before that. I followed the Raiders in the 80s and first 5 years of the 90s. But never have I ever seen such bullshit & corrupt officiating like I have seen against the wahs. Year after year. I'm amazed we have investors/owners sometimes. Who'd want to waste millions on a club that constantly gets shit on? Yes, We haven't really reached our potential. That's on us. We'll never get a fair go unless we address it. Or doing something drastic to force them to give us a fair go.

I really wonder what's been up with CNK this year. There's been instances most weeks where he simply isn't in the right place on defence, or makes an absolute howler of a play like dropping a simple catch. Last season he was Mr Reliable.

Maybe he's been playing busted but it's been so disappointing to see.

How fitting was that last play by SJ?

Jink, step, beats a man, jink and step again and then drops it cold.

Can’t help but feel that’s his entire career summed up in one play.
Nah what sums up his career is the many times he single handedly won us games, when he led us to a GF in his rookie season, when he won golden boot in 2014 after carving for the kiwis, when he nearly led us to the GF last season, falling just short of Daily M. All the exciting plays, the passion for our club and the jersey.

I know hating is your gimmick but stop the crap with SJ. He’s the farking man and we won’t see a player like him again for a long time.

I also think SJ crying and and being so emotional all the time is a bit cringe.

Does that bother you as well.

He ain’t a champion, Just a flashy player in my books.
Love him or loathe him, he's a club legend! and probably rightly so.

Certainly wasn't the finished product, but he's a big part of Warrior's history now, gave us a lot of hope in some dire times, but we aint a one man team, and he can't be solely blamed for some of our results over the years.

Niukore to the middle and Halasima to an edge is the play

I fear it will be the other way around though...
I might sound pretty negative but Nikoure is one player I want shopped to other clubs.
No fault of his own with the injuries that have plagued his time here.
But he has been so underwhelming for mine, errors, running at players not gaps etc.
We could use his salary a lot more on the open market or Webby needs to whip him into shape.

I’m just not loser or a blind faith follower.

2 good fucking season out of 10 and I don’t have a right to vent?

Fuck that shit, I’m gonn call this club out for what it is until shit changes.
Bro I get it.

15 years I’ve been obsessed about this team. They dictated my life. Events had to be planned around Warriors games. My family are on edge when the games on because I took it way too seriously. Back when me and my now wife were grinding we still had to budget for 3 Warriors jerseys a season, and season memberships for 10 years.

10 years on this very forum posting my thoughts, writing essays upon essays venting my frustrations about this team. Primarily so my family and friends didn’t have to hear all about it.

My oldest son finally got into the Warriors last year, you know up the Wahs movement and all that. I always dreamt of my sons being fans alongside me. He finally did after 9 years. But because I was in too deep emotionally with this team, last year (and even this season) I scoffed all these bandwagon fans coming on board while shits hot - they didn’t know the suffering and pain fans like myself endured before getting here - and I didn’t engage my with son in the way I should have.

I hadn’t made following this team an enjoyable experience for him at times due to my attitude towards the team in general. Even tho we played so well last year I didn’t sit and enjoy the moment because I was just waiting for shit to hit the fan again like it always does.

I made a decision 2/3 into this season to just enjoy being a fan moving forward. All this anger and venting, end of the day WE make the fucking choice to support this team.

We can literally decide whether or not to be a fan. To buy merchandise, tickets, season memberships, flight packages to Las Vegas.

For myself, I love sports, and Rugby League is at the top of that. With sports teams I’m loyal to the death - I mean the Orlando Magic are my NBA team, and they’re essentially NBA equivalent of the Warriors being honest) - so I’m never going to support another team other than the Warriors.

So if don’t want to stop watching the game, and I’ll never be able to support another team doing so, I guess I’m stuck with the Warriors.

So what’s the point of getting so down when things are tough, when I’m still going to be here next season supporting this team through thick and thin.

I can’t control what the club does, the decisions they make, that players make, the that refs and bunker make. But I can control what to focus on. So may as well just stay optimistic and focus on the positive things moving forward. Better for the mind, peace and my sanity.

One of those things being Demetric Sifakula. 10 runs 116m 13 tackles. 32 mins. He only ran 8m less than AFB (who only had 3 more runs in 69m).

Excited we got JFH coming next season, but this fella could really ease the pain of losing AFB.

Where are all the little bitches that stick up for the officials, blatant fucking cheating on display last night.

I get tired of saying it. There is no conspiracy, only incompetence.

Look at 24 hours early in the Manly game, gross incompetence.

The refs and bunker are utter trash for everyone. We think we get crook calls... I watch nearly every game of every season, officiating is cooked everywhere.

It's an absolute joke.

Social media blowing up about all of this. To top things off, Murray sin binned last night for a shoulder to the head of frizzell.

This isn’t a conspiracy against the warriors, to be clear.

This is incompetence of the referees. The ref boss is stuck between a rock & a hard place. He is obligated to defend his employees, as any employer should (eg your workplace defending you), however he’s also obligated to uphold the integrity of the sport itself.

This recent uproar isn’t going Make people want to become a referee, and without refs we have no sport. However on the other hand, these inconsistencies & lack of accountability is affecting the quality and integrity of the sport itself, which in turn is losing the patience of the fans. Without the fans, there is no nrl.

Fans spend money to attend the sport they love. They don’t expect perfection, nor will they get it. But what we do expect is consistency with rules. Within the space of three days, the rules of a sin bin has changed every night, down to the discretion of the referee. This is unacceptable. Webby nailed it. It’s about the safety of the players & players aren’t punished for on field offences, then player safety (which as an employer of the players), the NRL is not upholding their duty of care.

I went to the game on Friday, and sat with yet another sold out crowd of 24000 people. NZ is doing it extremely tough economically, yet we’re selling out stadiums, buying merch, & paying for sky subscriptions.

All we’re asking for, is consistency & accountability of the referees. We don’t expect favours. We don’t want to be felt sorry for. All we want, is a fairly adjudicated sport where both teams are given the same opportunity to win the match, where the best team wins the game regardless of referee decisions. This is currently not happening.

For a sport that is producing record breaking profit margins, is expanding globally & bringing in new teams to support this growing viewership, this sub par standard of refereeing is now a glaring issue of the sport. Rugby union has this one up on the NRL, I cannot remember the last referring howler in the super rugby or Bunnings rugby competition.

NRL seriously need to sort their own backyard out & make the necessary changes. The reality is the sport will continue to lose fans at this rate, making the sport unsustainable.

rant over
