Yeah but he's likely to add strength given he's only 17 so needs to lose fat to stay under 120kg. Unco reminds me of Lousi. Any reason he didn't play Matts last year or is he new to league?

Yeah i'm predicting an Eels v Warriors grand final.
Eels look like the team to beat.
Roosters have some big names but I don't think they have the same strike across the park as us.

New to league I think and maybe new to footy in general up until a few years ago. I didn't see him in junior school rugby so I'm guessing he just played as a senior. I first saw him at the Auckland School athletics champs as a junior in 2022. He looked like he’d never thrown a discus before so just chucked it and got silver lol.
He’s nowhere near where Sam Lousi or Sam Kasiano were at the same age but he’s a prop and they were second rowers that played league since primary school. He’ll be fine on attack, I want to see how he defends.

I had same opinion, but they're probably a stronger team when they are both in there, which means Lemana to center
I think Lemana will get some games on the wing in Flegg this year. So will be a long season for him. The outside back crop in Flegg is ridiculously strong but i imagine alot of them will be rotating with NSW cup.

Strong center pairing. Both tall and rangy which is the blueprint to being a gun first grade center.
Will be good to see Mark Sikuvea in his debut (Junior Sikuvea's younger brother). On the smaller side, but is absolutely electric runner of the ball. Lightening quick. Hopefully he gets a go at fullback at some point.
Amasio Tiatia has had one hell of an off-season. Didnt start for Harold Matts last year or play much of a role. A few months later he's signed long term by the club and starting hooker for SG ball.
Rico Lemalie in a new role of halfback. Excited to see how that goes. Very strong all round player.
Would have to assume that Tuiloma and Hansen are on the bench because its going to be a very long season for them, playing SG ball and then moving straight up to regular roles in Jersey Flegg.

Ratcliffe looks like he’s grown, but early errors from Balchin and Tiatia hurt us. Scoreless after 12 minutes with Manly looking more likely. Strong cover defence from Ratcliffe and Pua kept them out initially.
However, Ratcliffe was outleapt on a Metcalfe bomb and Manly crossed first – 4–0 with the kick to come. Missed. 16 gone 4-0 to the visitors.

Just like the Matts team some ridiculous offloads out the back to nobody. Ball security and basic have been piss poor in both our teams start - again game 1, though it’s a short season.
Manly 6 looks like Jason Saab, fantastic cover tackle saves a try from Ratcliffe, did well to hold Manly out.
