General Warriors Preseason 2026

I think if we all lower those dreams of playing finals this may be easier to stomach.

The reality of Boyd forbthe first ten rounds and then Metcalf for the back end when we know hes super injury prone, we could really be in for a whole season of Boyd!

As much as I want metcalf to come back and own it, hes never show he can stay with it for a whole season. Now maybe him starting half way through might get him through the year, but fuck me, boyd is all we have!

CHT cant play seven, so yes I would make damn sure Cleary is getting ample oppertunity at cup, because this is the yeah he makes his debut.

Ps: if Boud is going okay when metcalf comes back, I would pair metcalf with boyd and pit metcalf back at six.
This may actually be a good thing for Boyd. Without the pressure of being dropped for 10 rounds or so at least he may relax and actually show us what he has got in first grade.

I wish that would happen. The keys are his and he drives the bus now.

An improvement of 15th last season in offloads would go along way to easing pressure on the halves. A Laban / Halasima back row creates something straight away with Erin Clarke doing what he does, but the team needs to know to expect these more often.
Someone backing up an Egan scoot from dummy half ( 3rd last year) would also go someway to converting half chances. These sliding doors opportunities could prove a big factor in scoring points as we are not natural point scoring team.

why is this game being played at Leichhardt? we play better in australia (what's that about?) these days anyway.

Dolphins are basically full strength other than the Hammer, so team will have to play properly this time or they'll get a margin put on them

seems fair to be at a neutral ground, given both sides are likely treating this as an audition for rd 1. Focusing on the result of the trial isn't productive. I'm sure Webby's goals are far more holistic than that.

Injured Halves
1 Metcalf - Round 7
2 TMM - Round Eleven
3 CHT - should be back round one
4 Linnane - round 3-4
5 Jett Cleary - havn't heard when back but he is injured

Healthy Halves
1 Boyd
2 Hanson - Thou shalt not pass (Lord of the Rings reference)
3 Jack Thompson - has never played NSW cup

If I am Webster I would be wrapping Boyd in cotton wool and not playing him this week.

In the injury thread I just stated that Tanah is now worth 1.4million for ten years as a joke. Based on your analysis. He's now worth 1.6. (Another joke).

the result isnt important, especially when they pull everyone off in the second half, but if the team repeats that one out caveman footy then they shouldn't bother even having trials or just play the NSW cup team

Can some one confirm
I thought read somewhere on Nzw that nsw cup team play a trial in qld this weekend
Is this correct or just a misread
If correct where and when?
I see Taine is a reserve for the main game

Yes amidst the carnage one beacon of hope is that Taine has recovered in time for the start of the season.
Much to my chagrin he has not replaced Charnze the incumbent fullback but at least he is a healthy NRL grade player at our disposal.
