Just because it sounds like something that might have happened doesn't mean that it did. If said blowup did happen, don't you think it would have been front page news on NZH or even in the Sydney media given all the attention on the Mets issue right now? Until there is objective proof to the contrary, I call bs on it all.

As far as I'm concerned, the matter is over with the dragons news. Mets has moved on. We've moved on. Time to move forward and push for the title, with or without Mets' help.

I don't buy it, other than a passing comment which would have been fair enough, certainly not something to stress over - we've got a whole coaching and management team to tell him he he stuffed up, senior players within in their leadership groups would just be reflecting the team's message if anything.. our team isn't falling apart or even blowing up , it just got stronger if anything

You're correct but both share the same reason for leaving early. They think/thought the grass is/was greener elsewhere.
Metcalf’s current deal was announced after just 18 appearances for the club, & no game time at #7, so I'd imagine he isn't in the top end of salaries paid this season.
I'm sure the club are glad his big deal starting next year is off the books though

The rumour at the time was $500k. It will be interesting to know if they increased his pay this year though to smooth out the increase over the following years. He may have been paid very well since Nov 1 to have paid 2 games. I think that adds to the animosity over how things have been done

Moving on Mets will certainly free up quite a bit for a mercenary although a risk for combinations and the other 2 won’t feel too great if we are beating big teams, if we struggle against panthers than maybe more justified
