Are we seriously stressing out over an unconfirmed rumour from an opposition fan forum regarding player unrest here? Just because it sounds like something that might have happened doesn't mean that it did. If said blowup did happen, don't you think it would have been front page news on NZH or even in the Sydney media given all the attention on the Mets issue right now? Until there is objective proof to the contrary, I call bs on it all.

As far as I'm concerned, the matter is over with the dragons news. Mets has moved on. We've moved on. Time to move forward and push for the title, with or without Mets' help.

Surely just testing the market to get a read on his actual value. I'd be very surprised if the club wasn't looking to lock him down now that Metcalf is gone.
I agree with you.

But to play devils advocate, if the Warriors were happy to let CHT walk, 'which it looks like they may be' - what would that tell you about the footy style his club is looking to play into the future? Are they potentially looking for more speed/ agility in the #6 position - which is why they wanted Metcalf to play there too?

Unfortunately it seems pretty true.

Webby was publicly quoted that he and management learned of the unrest in the papers...

The short and sharp press releases from the club also indicate they are far from impressed at the situation.

This is not a compassionate release situation and the picture now looks pretty clear that Luke and management took the nuclear option.

Not hard to see why it might rub a senior player up the wrong way, especially when a major theme of the year has been 'connection'.

Apparently Linnane is the fastest at the club who’s the only contract 6 for next year

Surely whatever the make up of our preferred stand off is, wouldn't the bottom line be "wins"?

And as a real question. What do you think Chitty currently lacks or has to improve on?

So I think CHT is a vastly improved player due to eliminating his mistakes and becoming a much stronger link man. His physicality is excellent.
His defense is probably best-in-position in the NRL. And he is team first. Clearly the squad is stronger with him at 6 than with somebody like Metcalf.

His kicking game is B rated - just not a natural kicker but he does understand the angles.
He lacks explosiveness off his feet but he is strong. You wouldn't back him to break out from our own 20. His attacking threat is fairly low outside of the opposition 20 and he lacks clutch moments across his career.... meaning he is not a clutch player, and we probably need to develop one of these in our halves. Hence Jett/ Linnane / Inch / Thompson.... and what we wanted from Metcalf.
