Although CHT is playing well, I wonder if Boyd and Metcalf was a glimpse into the direction the club intends to go and talking about retaining CHT is dependent on him as a 14 coming off the bench and backup? A sticking point could be that CHT wants to continue to play in the halves, which it sounds like cowboys could accommodate? Seems like the club have TMM that can fill as many positions that the club could be considering extending him if CHT were to leave?

Are you sure? I think as long as they become a non resident for tax purposes then it it is up to PNG to decide how to tax them - but it is unusual situation so may be more to it

If I was a player, I'd be speaking to my management team about getting to PNG for those tax free $, even if it meant spending a season in Aust beforehand.

Sorry if I muddied the waters, let me clarify, there is no way for tax free in PNG for Non Australians. You still have to pay tax in PNG to their Govt.

This deal is two fold, tax free status in PNG and Tax free status in Australia for Australian citizens (that qualify specifically under the NRL Governmental approved special tax exemptions).

It must be AKP’s speed that they’ve gone over him on the left wing and Anderson I think must be replacing him at left centre. He’s playing great as is DWZ I reckon

I also just think he is playing better at center than he ever has at wing. Gets the ball more this way, is also making great meters. Obviously can be a bit greedy with the ball sometimes but all elite centers are like that. So when they do tip it onto the winger, the opposition winger is likely already jamming because of the earlier pattern.
