I'm not saying he didn't have influence.... even the lowest MP has a small degree of influence.... but the inference in the post was he had the influence to get the West to start a war when he was PM.... yet, he wasn't PM at the time the Gulf War started.... he didn't become PM for six years after it started.

Now I totally expect Syria/Ukraine/Hamas wars etc will end with ceasefires and talks and public pronouncements that are basically "we compromise on this but we still hate you and still want you to die!" etc until the next round of Syria/Ukraine/Hamas wars etc. Which will end with similar types of compromises and pronouncements. But it keeps the Western media veddy veddy well fed. And, yep, us Western media consumers, we'll all watch because "The. World. Could. End. In. My. Lifetime."
