Its not a bad thing for CHT to own the pain of his performance. It is a massive opportunity to grow character and resilience. The other opportunity he has is goal kicking practice

I am reminded of the 2007 rugby world cup when we lost to France. Richie McCaw spoke about how he stayed on the field after the loss. He soaked it in and said he was taking his medicine. Then he went about figuring out how to be better in such situations. They won lots after that. Chin up CHT.
Bit of a difference between Richie McCaw and CHT

I'd be keeping CHT at 6 if SJ is fit and available. As wizard of Tauranga wizard of Tauranga said, apart from goal kicking he had a pretty good game. TMM is either injured or really out of form.
When you say he had a pretty good game what did you like about his game?

From what I have seen he has really offered next to nothing all year and the stats tend to back that up.

CHT isn’t bad . I like him as a 6 and with enough time he could be good. What I don’t like is that he’s not calm or composed. Very erratic and hyper. The missed conversations, the dropped ball close to the ball, the random and wild pass in the bulldogs game.

There’s something not right with his head yet. But he’s got a very good skill set.

Better 6 than TMM
But TMM better not as good as SJ at 7 but better than CHT😂😂😂

I think CHT is a very good foil at 6 to a 7 that runs the show.

Last night for whatever reason he dominated position 72 receipts to TMM 49. In dogs game it was 71-81 (also to many touches for CHT)

If you go back to Cowboys game, our most complete performance of the season in my opinion the receipts were 38-66. The more recent win against the broncos 39-54.

For me, TMM is a brilliant playmaker who needs the ball in his hands a lot to be able to control and create. Our wins with him as that player at 7 highlight this. The question has to be why that has changed in the last couple of games. Game plan, injury, over calling, under calling?

Whatever it is, we will struggle with CHT getting the majority of receipts whoever the other half is. Solid player and a good partner for a dominant half but he ain't that guy otherwise.

Neither is he expected to be or does he want to be.

That’s what makes him a great 6. He’s just happy to be there and do his part.

Why Webby flip their roles this week?

That's the real question that needs to be answered.

We have seen TMM is good enough to be a dominant half. We have seen CHT is good enough to be a solid foil at 6 with 30%-40% share of receipts.

What has changed for the script to be flipped this last game and last?

The biggest problem with TMM being a dominant half is that he needs a 5/8 who can kick. TMM is good at feeding line runners or taking the line himself but not other core skillsets required of a dominant half.

I just dont quite understand why TMM cant be a decent 5/8. He has all the skills for the role but just disappears in matches when he is not the main half.

I am not so concerned about the long kicking game. It has been passable enough iMO Certainly not top shelf but ok enough and isn't or hasn't cost us any games. Short kicking is good with the odd poor kick every now and then, which will improve the more he gets the opportunity in games With regards to the being a good 6 I think he needs the ball in hand for a high proportion of receipts in order to create. If you look at the Cooper Cronk break down of his play in the Panthers game he comes left with short ball setting up the defence, go right once and then come back left and the defence hold giving the pass to Pompey (I think) running through the gap. Was so good to watch that passage of play. At 6 with fewer touches I think it's harder to set up teams. I also think that he has been ok at 6 this year. Certainly not any worse than others. But people seem to be expecting the same output from less touches?

I think the pecking order by process of elimination for next year is starting to shape up as SJ and Luke Metcalf as first choice above TMM and CHT.
While I agree with you Wrighty the biggest factor is how Metcalf gets up after his injuries.
If he was to get a full season at top fitness his x factor will be awesome.
Hopefully he makes a full recovery

That is a very good analogy for where this team is at. They have to learn how to perform under pressure. As they say, walk towards the pressure. There is consistency of effort ( except the Titans game) Now they need consistency of performance.

If SJ is not 100% don't play him. It's not good for him and it's not good for the team. Also CHT needs to get back on the horse.
I think CHT would be better off out of the spotlight being on the bench to support SJ and TMM as starters. Give him a chance to lick his wounds and make a good impression in more limited minutes. Agree with your first point though about SJ should not play injured.
