Everyone having a go at the halves is misplaced, The gameplan was shit, Mr aura and our pack got rolled, and our backs were no match with there youth and speed. Don’t like being negative but what does Fish bring? Especially for his price tag, hardly see him run at someone his size or bigger looks for the 9 every run
Mr. Aura can't do it by himself. The pack got out muscled, bullied

Tough watch. A couple of lucky tries from Canberra, a couple begging from us which would have flattered the score line a little more.

Feels like raiders had a plan and got away with it (pushing up in the line, slowing down ruck excessively, pushing up off the mark hard) and I don’t think they get away with any of that vs a team like Cronulla who will shred your edges if you do that, or a storm/manly/penrith who will just pepper the ball behind your line all day.

Anyway, Vegas is silly. Hope we can bounce back, we’ve got some weird combinations at the moment. Struggling to find a place for CNK in my team at this rate
I was thinking that as I was watching it too. That they were lying down alot longer than we were. Same with their line speed. And no offside penalties

I know Webby would ultimately has his 'redemption' team which means same as this. 🤦‍♂️ but this would be my team.
1. Tuaupiki
2. RTS
3. CNK
4. Leiataua
5. Kali
6. Metcalf
7. TMM
8. JFH
9. Egan
10. Barnett
11. Capewell
12. Laban
13. Clark

14. CHT
15. Vaimauga
16. Halasima
17. Niukore
I like the backline. I would go that but with Healey at 14 and Walker 17. CHT is so difficult, he offers so much promise but I believe his best position is 14, however I think Healey adds more spark on attack. So CHT for me is now our second best 14.

I like Healey at 14 however if our forwards aren't going forward it slows his running game which is his best attribute.

Well we have 2 weeks hopefully we see our first grade team play at home not the NSW knock on effect team like this week

I know people are going to be fuming, but to be honest that was largely the worst case scenario.

Nothing planned our for us today.
Funnily enough, if you look at the stats at the moment and of the game, things were largely 50/50 across the board. We were no better or worse in run meters, completed sets, kicks etc but there were a few key areas we fucked up imo
-Charnz had a shocker.
-LM's kicking was poor and gave us no chance to compete.
-Bench use was poor. We were clearly tired at one point but no changes. Leka and Vaumunga looked good, they would have looked great 30 minutes in...
-zero go forward. Anyone doubting us requiring someone like Hazleton or a big guy can fuck off. Fish, Ford and Barnett had very little impact early on, that's just too small a front row.

For me, we were pretty much dog shit, with taken very very poor performances. The good news is we have so much upside and things to improve.

We essentially had 3 tries (Starling break, 90m Savage intercept and CNK dropped ball) gifted to them. 3 tries were 1 poor errors cost us 18 points.

We certainly werent good enough today but man, I can't believe the wanking off of the Raiders by the commentators.
You reckon we should move towards a size based forward pack and bench?

Not sure where my unjustified confidence stemmed from leading up to the season start. 10 minutes before the kick off I was confident, SJ comments regarding LM only re-enforced the energy, Warriors crowd support so big the TV panel all endorsing the Wahs, cut to JFH looking beast mode and the world is good.. no great!... drink in hand on Sunday morning at 9.55am, first game of the season, supercoach locked in..... Bring it on.

Boom..... same old shit. Errors, penalties, lethargy, lack of direction, very ugly....

I love CNK, my son loves CNK as he graciously took his time 45 minutes after a game to still be there to take a selfie with him, but, he is not the right option anymore.

I thought the use of our young forwards was non existent, I understand they are young and all the negatives that possibly go with that, but Canberra threw the kitchen sink at us in the first 30 minutes, and suddenly Canberra are now looking tired, not to unleash such talent and exuberance at the time was criminal. Why the fuck can't coaches change strategy mid game when it is screaming for it, it is beyond frustrating.

Lastly, the Raiders + all teams now have stolen our IP with off loads, highlighting how effective they are, how did we go from being the blue print to being the sand pit...it truly hurts to see our natural DNA flair being eroded year after year..I don't subscribe to the theory that the Aussie way will win us the premiership, not unless we play with a squad of 30 Aussie, do we really want to win the comp as a Kiwi side that way, not for me!

Only 1 game though, hoping all involved can steady the ship that carries more support and dreams than any other club.

But how do other teams lie all over us so much? Is it just me?
I believe the key is dominating the tackle and ruck speed. We lost that today and as such lost the game.

To elaborate. Our halves had a shit platform to launch from. So we were predictable and slow in attack.

To be the halfback that Metcalf wants to be, those are the moments when even when you are under the heaviest of pressures....you create attack in spite of it. DO SOMETHING!!!!
