I agree in that he looks a good player, but not for $600,000 for a guy who looks good in a stacked Sharks team. Let Knights be the team that gambles and potentially overpays, we need to come away from being that team who is a last resort/used as a name to squeeze more money when negotiating

Bit of a difference in sticking to a key play maker and a centre. Like nothing good comes from swapping out the halves all the time, we need to decide if LM is the 7 we stick to it. Hes still young for a half and would be my choice to build off.

If you wanna revisit it we probably need a top half to sign with us. But basis current standing Luke should have that locked.

Alls well that ends well though and like I say it was like a magical wave came over all of them after 5 minutes and then they settled and played very well all things considered.

Composure wasn't my strong suit as a youngster. Young dumb and full of....

Over excitement
 
Not to sound too harsh, but it's going to be a long season.

We have no spine. It's as simple as that. They're backup first graders at best, and most would struggle to make any other side in the comp. Webby will trial multiple combinations of TMM, Metcalf, CHT, Boyd and then whoever is fit to play FB. But the reality of the situation is our spine is one of the worst in the comp. Outside backs similarly are woeful. Forwards are okay.

Points will be very hard to come by this year, hopefully he's instilled some defensive starch into them because that's the only way we're going to be competitive.

Our method needs to be whole team on every play. Runners in motion. Running the right lines. At the right time. And playmakers who can put the ball in the right place at that same right time.

Runners in motion forces defenders to make multiple decisions and there in lies the way through. My two cents on attacking play.

To which i do not think you'll see in any trial game reguardless of team or string. It's all just there to build some match fitness and display individual greatness/short comings.
 
Gave a C, so I suppose a pass.
Probably like every year, building up to the game my expectation on how we would look and play was knocked out of me in the first 5 minutes sadly! Started to wonder how I am going to make the season, but thankfully I thought as the game wore on we maintained some standards and in patches looked good.
Given one of the main reasons I fell in love with the Warriors was our ability to attack from anywhere, and we did it with style! It continues to dishearten me with our inability to look fluent in what should be our greatest asset, attack, we are bog standard and limp it seems yet again. I feel we are losing our identity in trying to win a comp the Australian way.
Apart from the above, fingers crossed the early injury to DWZ is it for the season and we can field our best XVII consistently, as we will need to if we are to make the 8.
Lastly, I get scared we will become the poster club for the new PTB crack down....

I'm hoping with the way Vaimauga promoted the ball last night, webby encourages our guys for more unstructured second faze play.

Sadly we are the poster boys of every crack down. Including the short lived:
-being punched in the face and laughing about it (Laban in NSW cup)
-dropping a ball on someone's head (CHT vs Cowboys)
-tackling a player and taking them too the horizontal (RTS Gold coast)

But we are often on the receiving end of counter laws, like the Dogs can do what they want with no real repercussions:
-Salmons high shot on TMM in the final minutes
-Critchon hitting RTS direct in the head with force

I do feel the Aussie refs go to the Warriors games listening to Kendrick Lemars 'they not like us' to psych themselves up for their officiating

100% disagree - not saying they're all stars, obviously they can't be considered as such, they have no track record together in 1st grade to speak of -- what we're seeing a bit of a rebuilding year and we have some guys with talent who are being fit to a new system, post-dominant playmakers in SJ and Tohu (who were on a sloooow fade out last year), and what will come out the other side will be quite different - we're nowhere near a point where we can decide whether it's successful or not - have a little faith, be a little gullible, it's what I'm doing
