Great to hear that we are moving away from our generic play from last season. Proof will be in the pudding of course with AW as we heard that we would incorporate TMM more at 6 when SJ returned last season and it lasted half a game. These preseason games are important to get the combinations and play going against some opposition other than in house training runs. Like every team, building in to game one and the season is key to these games.
Hope to see slow starts addressed. So often the other team scored and we were chasing. Was a trend I noticed in most grades and first two games of last weekend was the same. Was similar in 2023 with the amount of games we were chasing but won

This and showing good communication, commitment and resilience in our defence. Always going to have points scored against us but too often last season we gave away easy points

I don't think anyone is saying they are a waste of time? It's a great risk free opportunity to try things. Our point is noone earns a spot just by having a good trial. Can it get them closer? Sure, but so much more to it
Thanks for replying to my post lance155 unlike some others 🙂
Of course there are many reasons why trials are held and give coaches and staff an understanding of how our younger guys will handle the step up in grade.
Great opportunity for the future Warriors and boy don't we need some new blood

Ed Kosi just isn’t first grade standard, poor hands, mistakes galore, yet still here we are. What’s wrong giving a start to Kali, Pasikala or even Tuapiki on the wing? I hate this 1st grade experience selection process.

Reminds me of the Jono Wright/Dane Neilson years. And questions have to be asked of our conditioning staff. Niggles and doubts before a ball is kicked. I like Luke at 7 and the speed he has.
I’d hope we invest a lot more in that area this year. It drained us last season, and we’re already off to a bad start.

The video with Montoya showcasing our facilities made them look pretty grim—tiny physio and ice bath areas. But wev we have one of the best gym's IMO. Compared to a similar-level club like the Cowboys, we’re below standard, let alone when stacked against the Broncos, Rabbitohs, and Roosters. Depth is always important, but it’s crazy how often we seem to be tested on that more than any other club.
On the other side though, with RTS out we are likely to see a lot more of Daeon Amituanai in first grade as a winger tommorw. Which i'm pretty pumped for. Hell of a penrith junior last year.

Great to be given a chance to impress in the Trials.
Bet he's rearing go.. 😉 😜

The Warriors retired the number 19 in honour of the Mad Butcher and his support of the club so now they won't give any player that number jersey, so in team lists you will see a jump from number 18 to number 20 when extended team lists are named. I am not sure why number 19, in the Google search results I saw when looking this up he was called "the 19th Warrior" in a few of them - maybe it's to do with having a team of 17 on game day and an 18th man for injury so if you were going to say the Mad Butcher was an extra man on the team you would say he is number 19... But I don't know, someone else might be able to answer this better.
wow, thanks for that jv82, chur brother - wahzup!!!

I’m not concerned, if they are niggles why would you even put them at risk.
If it was a game for 2 points they could be playing.
Could be designed to have a look at Pasikala with him added? He is supposedly on a train and trial and added to top 30 next year? But these guys might be getting the first opportunity to fill the void the squad apparently wants to add. Just hope with that in mind that they don’t try too hard and blow it

Yes important to see how these guys stack up in trials against first graders regardless of others opinions.

That was an interesting interview with Webster.

A change in the style of play will be good as the key guys (Johnson and to a lesser degree Harris) in how we were playing are no longer there. Being set to a specific style of play has been the downfall for a few Warriors coaches.

The other two half options are injured hence the naming of Cleary and Hanson.

We have had a pretty poor run with injuries the last few years. Even in 2023 it didn't seem as bad due to the results on the field. When you are losing it gets highlighted a bit more.

It would be good to get an extended run of games with the same side.
