Post Match Pre Season Trial 2- Warriors vs Storm

NZWarriors.com

That was a good hitout. Our attack in the first half looked fluid.

Biggest question mark i have is what to do with CNK/TMM. I think that Taine booked himself a wing spot (though i do worry he will get picked up and put into touch a few times this season due to his size), CHT and Metcalf locked their halves spots.

I like how TMM provides a bit more link to the outside backs coming from the back, but obviously doesnt have the metres that CNK provides. I cant see webster putting CNK at centre to accomodate TMM at the back either.

Will be interesting to see the makeup of our bench for Round 1.

Have to be realistic. It was their first trial and our second. Closer to our top side than their.

In saying that under Kearney I can't remember if we lost to a 2nd-3rd string Storm side. But the reasoning after the game was how further they were in their development. Our depth players looked up to it today.

You can only play who is in front of you. Our guys made their tackles, worked to their structure and made their metres. The Storm score off kicks which is good for our defence.

Trials lose structure in the second half as the positions change. Overall our younger guys looked less nervous this week for the run last week.

The TMM to FB probably asks more questions than it answered:

Did TMM look that sharp at fb as it was his 2nd outing?
Did CHT play better because there was a 3rd play maker on the field?
Is TMM to fb a viable option theyve been practicing in training, or a late fuck around that paid off?

Imo it really muddies the waters as to 'what half played better', as Martin created from the back and also at half when he was there later on in the game, while CHT also looked really good too.
